There is NO proof otherwise, but that is a different topic about the faulty dating methods we have available.

Now, there is a gap in between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. Some Christians don't like that gap but it is there none the less.

We, modern mankind probably are only 6,000 to 10,000 years old, it is difficult to know. The age of the planet don't affect that although some want to date the planet along with the animal life.

No one on the face of the earth is an expert in Bible knowledge. We know a lot but as time progesses light is shined on things that we thought we understood, but the real meaning was not yet given.

So then why is the decay rate of uranium-238 different in the different layers of strata? If all that sediment settled at the time of 'the Flood', wouldn't the layers all have relatively the same age? If occurring by hydrological sorting.

I just can't bring myself to believe it all somehow came to rest according to the AGE of the minerals, with the oldest settling deepest. Rather than by density or weight. Those odds are much too great.

And, poly strata fossils do occur in relatively quick occurrences like floods, but not always. Volcanic ash or lava flows, avalanches, tectonic shifting, and large storms like hurricanes or tsunamis that can push coastal sand inland are some other examples.

check out the above link.....it has some valid points. I.E. whole petrified trees standing in several differing layers of strata. Geologists/scientists can't refute logic which shows that those layers are NOT millions or billions of years removed form each other.

technically, robertson did NOT say the earth wasn't 6000 years old. he said the calculations of ussher werent inspired by god. ussher calculated an EXACT date. he used several frames of reference for his scholarly work on the subject (it was the 17th century, and MANY folks of both scientific and religious bents performed such calculations). many of usshers estimates of dates for actual historical figures were pretty much spot on (because he used actual historical frames of reference that were completely unrelated to biblical text). beyond the reign of nebuchadnezer(sp?), he had to rely entirely on biblical text. robertson is rejecting the "divine inspiration" of ussher's work because of the inclusion of non-biblical frames of reference. for the record, i am NOT a christ-tard, nor a young earth creationist, nor a creationist of any ilk. i find the concept entirely laughable, and the folks who would buy into it should be committed for psychiatric evaluation in my opinion. that is what would happen if they claimed an invisible friend named "morris the giant rabbit" or "sparky the robot" had told them such outlandish horse shit. but, replace it with "my all powerful sky-daddy" and you can reject reality to the point of howling at the moon.
