Your hair stinks because of your diet. I only put a little bar soap in my hair every few days, otherwise I just let the water run over my hair in the shower without any soap or shampoo. You don't want to be washing the natural oils out of your hair. Wait and see how alive your hair will look. |

| Dr. Lon Greenbaum User ID: 28385893 11/29/2012 07:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Go to the drug store or drug aisle of a large grocers and get a bottle of povidone iodine scrub. After washing your hair, rub a little bit into your scalp and let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse. This will control scalp bacteria and folliculitis. Iodine is a powerful antiseptic that works well on scalp conditions, as will hydrogen peroxide. Don't worry about the dark color, it doesn't stain. However, don't use vinegar or lemon juice, ofetn employed by people for hair rinses, which can make scalp conditions worse, because scalp bacteria tends to be acid-loving bacteria. Although vinegar in the ears for ear infections works well, because ear infection bacteria is acid-hating. |

A cup of white vinegar to a gallon of warm (not hot) water used to get the hair wet then let stand 5-10 minutes, then rinse and follow with your usual shampoo. Not only will it kill anything else in your hair, it will soften it up. Here is a list of recipes for shampoo you make at home: [link to www.livestrong.com] Since I do not know what hair type you are (oily, dry, dandruff, etc). Got a Walgreens nearby? If so you most likely will find one of these products on the shelf: [link to www.walgreens.com] This is the product I use: [link to www.walgreens.com] It is 'organic' meaning no really harsh chemicals, plus it is safe to use on a septic system. in fact any soap/detergent that is biodegradable or 'safe for septic system' is pretty much going to be all natural or 'organic' and safe for use. The only down side to this one is that it smells of lavender. So a guy may feel a bit uncomfortable about using it. In summer I shampoo daily, in winter I shampoo every other day unless I am working, then I do it daily. During the daily routines I add a conditioner (plenty of organic ones as well). Understand, your hair acts like a filter and picks up and holds all of the debris and stuff that is in the air. If you are around gas fumes, your hair will absorb some of that, if you work in a kitchen, your hair will pick up food odors. If you smoke or are around smokers, your hair will pick some of that up. So going without cleaning the hair is an all around bad idea in our modern, dirty world. "My Dog, its full of fleas!" -David Bowwow “A paranoid is someone who knows a little of what's going on.
