I went to confession (and to church at the Basilica) with a friend yesterday. I had not been to confession in years, and the priest did not give me a heavy penance which I expected. I was told to say three prayers (I was really surprised), however I said more than that as I felt it wasn't enough. :) Any how, need your opinion on this. My husband gets irritated when we go to church without him when he is working. He didn't like it that I went yesterday with a (female) friend of mine. I get lots of invitations to go to daily mass with this lady, however I have to turn most of them down because husband makes snide comments about me going to church with someone else. I did break down and say something to my friend as to why I turned down lots of her invitations (I think she likes the company as she is a divorcee, and her teen and grown kids live an hour away). My husband and I and daughter do go to church once in a blue moon together basically because he is busy doing other things on the weekends so it is very hard to go more as a family. Any how, I think he is jealous or something, I don't know. I certainly do not appreciate it, I am Catholic, he is methodist so he needs to respect my beliefs. Once4All is a fallen away Catholic who will NOT discuss the faith. He simply keeps repeating "Jesus is coming soon." We know already and for a long time now. Our Lord has shared more, there is important prophecy to accept. Pa Resident, I join Once4All and others in praying for your intention.  It's not right, a sin to not pay people fortheir work or pay them little as we are all experiencing. I have to ask... Why discuss going to Holy Mass on Once4All's thread? He's rejected the faith, maybe he attends Protestant Church on Sunday? Important... Christians obey God's Commandment, keep holy the Lord's Day by assembling to worship God together on the Lord's Day, Sunday. Church itself comes from the word "assembly." Staying at home to read the Bible doesn't fulfill the Commandment. Reading your comments, I am with you, my husband and I are not on the same page...evenly yoked. One day, both of them will be though, Our Lord and His mother's promise. I know you are praying for Once4All's reversion, so am I. I am sad he banned me from his threads, that's his bonus being a paying forum member. Protestants have to stop running away from God's full revelation, instead, they should accept it. Explain the importance of discussing God's natural judgments Once4All when you refuse to discuss the important, spiritual judgments, especially the reason for those judgments? You can't keep running away, go make a good Confession. Jesus has made it simple for you to come home. It would please your parents too. Oh how they must long for you all to return to the faith of your baptism. The Remnant is Roman Catholic. God hasn't changed, the most Holy Eucharist is #1, the grace of the Sacraments are needed.
