If she's college age and not yet peforming with major orchestras, forget piano. There are many international stars way ahead of her in the fight for the few paychecks available there. The music business is murder. She can use that to help her get into college, and into graduate school (for example med schools love musicians) but it's a hobby not a profession.

Math or other hard science leaves all options open.
