Unfortunately OP, and you won't like hearing this (the truth sometimes stings), but it really doesn't matter what she goes to school for since the country is broke and with the continued unrestrained spending and borrowing (money that can never be re-paid) our children have inherited the bleakest future this country has ever faced.

Jobs are being outsourced overseas at a record pace, the wealthy business owners are demonized by the press (who ironically and hypocritically are wealthy themselves) and are fleeing this country for safe havens. Spread the Wealth really translates to Spread the Poverty.

In the coming turbulent times, practical skills will be the most valuable. One poster said "they'll" figure it out in 12 years, so just keep borrowing and stay a "professional student". I wish I had that kind of optimism, but I honestly see it getting worse not better (a lot worse).
