Compensation? My step-dad was in nam, a gunner and a paratrooper with the 173rd airborne brigade.
He is in early retirement now due to hearing loss and nerve damage (agent orange).

His is nearly deaf, one ear 90 o/o hearing loss and other ear about 68 percent. His disability check is over 3000 dollars per month. He would much rather work, believe me. It took years of filing, appointments, doctors and testing.

I' m not sure if this is the compensation you are inquiring about, it's just how it happened with him. Basically forced into disability.
