Google sky app no longer accurate?

DST setting??

This started happening a few months ago. It used to be accurate,nothing to do with dst. If you think I could be wrong please let me know.

The government writes those programs for the whole internet. Actually the Navy.

There just having a hard time keeping up with all the lies they are telling and changing this to make it more normal.

Come on, does anyone else notice the same thing,or have an explanation?

Mine is to but only by a little bit I study the stars every night and track the zodiacal belt and the 6 visible planets (murcury would be the 7th but you can only see it in day time for the most part) but nothing "new" in the sky I'm gettting tired of the niburu bs. not many people actually sit outside for hours every night starring at the glorious angles above making their ANGLES of blessings and and curses for all.

google sky is not live, and the heavens are changing. believe what you see and not the app.

If Google Earth shows islands that don't exist, do you really think that Google Sky will be accurate ?

Due to budget cuts and layoffs,
staff is using previous year's information
for app.

And 2 nights ago, Jupiter was below the moon instead of above. Just take a look yourself at any planetarium software and set the location - date/time. Heres a example @ Pittsburgh 11/29/2012 @ 5 AM:

Yes i noticed, but im just an average nobody, this world is cruel.

Your phone's compass probably needs to be recalibrated. Apps like google sky that try to show you what you're pointing your phone at depend on the phone's sensor calibration.

Oh really? Please explain why my old copy of Cartes du Ciel that I haven't updated in years still works just fine, and please explain why it agrees with predictions from astronomers like Simon Newcomb that were made over a hundred years ago.

On December 19th, 2012 I recorded the sun shortly before sunset. At 4:27:00pm eastern time (21:27:00 UT), I disengaged the telescope's tracking system and allowed the earth's rotation to take over. Here's the image of the sun at the moment I disengaged the tracking:

1 hr 47 min 35 sec later (at 6:14:35pm eastern time, 23:14:35 UT) these stars passed through the field of view:

Overlaying these two images allowed me to compare the sun's detected position to its predicted position with Cartes du Ciel and indeed the sun is right where it should be:
