supposedly, in say, the platonic era, the most beautiful women were perceived as oracles...and they wore their hair very very long

i don't know if long hair has been associated with oracle-like--or a divining characteristic for men.

i don't know if it necessarily or scientifically/biologically functions
as an antennae...

though, it exists and seems purposeful beyond the concept of maintaining warmth as a mammalian trait.

Pony tails on a man make him look stupid, immature and LIBERAL - as in some know-it-all that wants to restrict the rights of others. But I would defend anyone's right to wear their hair anyway they want. Some very creative artistic people are absent-minded enough to get away with it and capture a genius look - a ' la Einstein - but they better be pretty damn smart when they open their mouths or its all over. Around here only tatoo "artists" and biker dudes bother to be vain enough to have long hair. Oh - I forgot to mention VAIN. They look Vain and self-absorbed.

i think this is a great question because it transcends all race and conceived borders...really brings it back to the original binary of man/woman.

in every culture there are men who wear their hair long and maintain this appearance well.

it's not always about looks or proving a point or message.

interesting to look at it from the perspective of vanity because there is a a direct opposition from the start. people with long hair could be looked at as both vain and unkempt especially in western ideology


people should be able to wear their hair anyway they want without being labeled in one way or another
