Re: 'We're married, we just don't have sex'
I think some here don't understand what you exactly mean when you speak about 'disgusting'.

From my own experience, i can tell that the longer you didn't indulge in physical sexual activities (which means no orgasms at all while practicing sexual abstinence) - consciously - the more disgusting the act itself becomes. The more your energy-level rises, through abstinence, the more you begin to see the 'disgustingness' of sex.

Following my 'theory' it becomes clear that having sex and creating a new living being is indeed a very serious sacrifice leave alone the act of sex for recreational purposes without having the creation of a child in mind.

The 'civilized' view of sexuality is an abomination.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9401665

then please explain the feeling of sexual arousal when all I have to do is lay next to my husband?, isn't that normal? is that civilized?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12655659

it is normal when you have a 'normal' sex life as 'defined' by the culture you grew up in/with, which is very one sided or very much tainted and corrupted by religious doctrines.

For a reason i don't would like to unfold, at a certain time in my life, i began to stop to follow the 'normal' path such an 'arousal' would implicate - 'normally' physical sex and eventually one or several orgasms. I was curious and i would like to know more about that 'arousal', i would like to know what IT really is. The more time that went by without indulging, the harder it got to not follow the 'normal' path, but i 'succeeded'. I began to see that IT, this 'energy', is only sexual at a certain level of frequency, and that this 'energy'/IT is something completely different at a 'higher' level, something very very precious, not sexual in the common sense at all. I have no words to describe the beauty of IT.

For many people nowadays sexuality is the only way to lower ones 'energy'-level to be able to function within 'civilized' society, this society which is defined by limitations. There are less and less options to express this energy, to follow its 'higher' aspirations without being ridiculed from all sides.

This energy i speak about doesn't know any limitations, it doesn't accept any limitations, whatever those limitations are or may be.

It's not complicated to understand the reason why sexualization runs rampant in our 'civilized' society.

I can almost guarantee that a married person who is not having any marital sex is either cheating or looking at porn and masturbating, or has a mental problem.

And/or he is a pedophile too. Hookers can get expensive, even cheap ones add up over the course of a week/month pretty fast. So unless your're rich and he can hide the fact he spends hundreds or thousands a month on hookers, then its gotta be he is on the down low. You seem smug and proud and almost bragging how you and your hubby are so superior that you dont need to fuck. Joke is on you, as he is plugging a fecal encrusted sphincter somewhere else. Eventually, he will grow tired of the cover of marital bliss and just shack up with his male cornholer. Re: 'We're married, we just don't have sex'
I find your post and lifestyle fascinating, OP. As much as I love sex and find that it can be an exhilarating and fantastic experience with the right person, I do find that the pursuit of sex takes up an inordinate amount of my available energy, energy I'd frankly rather use for other pursuits. So maybe outgrowing the need for sex is where our species is headed. Maybe we can only achieve true spiritual connection with each other and the world around us when we learn to leave our animal instincts behind.

As anecdotal evidence from my personal experience that might corroborate that viewpoint, the girls I date who are the most well-adjusted, warm and caring, the ones who were raised in loving households by loving parents, generally have a balanced approach towards sex. They often love it just as much as I do, but they have a healthy relationship with it; they tend to use sex as an expression of love, as an extension of their feelings for me. On the other hand, the girls who have had seriously fucked-up childhoods, who were exposed to violence in the home when they were young, almost invariably crave violent sex, almost as a way of reenacting, and thus experiencing anew, the violence they experienced as children.

To be brutally honest, the sex is almost always better with girls from the second group, but girls from that group also have a much more masculine mindset, a certain hardness and exaggerated toughness that robs them of a large part of their femininity. I find them, in short, less female and thus less human and more animalistic, as if they're tied with an invisible anchor to their baser instincts. Maybe when we can all truly commune with warmth and light and love, we can cut the chains of that anchor for good.

Care to elaborate on your upbringing, OP? I'm guessing, given your very unusual attitude towards sex, that your upbringing was also unusual in some way. If it was a very violent one, I'll have to rethink my hypothesis. But I'm curious nonetheless.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28658252

I grew up in a loving home with parents who openly told me how much they loved me and who have always tried to show me all the beautiful things life has to offer (like human compassion), but I don't think my upbringing is the reason why I'm an asexual. I have just always been like this hf.

People can absolutely be in love without sex. That is possible.

But, it's very unlikely that this marriage will last without sex. One of you, most likely your husband, will eventually want it, which is normal and healthy.

You're missing out on the one thing that can bring the 2 of you even closer together.

Instead of completely shutting your mind off to it, try working on it as it is a healthy part of a marriage.

I have never met a man that didn't want sex. I think something is wrong with this scenario.

I hope it works out for you tho OP. Maybe you really did meet the 1 man on the face of the earth that hates sex, but I"m having a hard time believing that.

Who knows.

I'm sure he does love you OP, and I"m sure that you love him too. But, at some point, he's probably going to want to have a sexual relationship with the woman that he loves, and that's normal.

Just don't completely close your mind to the possibility of it, maybe later on. It would bring you closer together.

This is the proof that you're not coming from a spiritual place regarding your avoidance of sex.

Easy OP.

You're ruffling feathers amongst the cavemen here,. Lol

The people attacking you are defined by their genitalia. Im willing to bet that the attackers are mostly, if not all, men. For them, being a "man" means having a big "stick" and strutting it. How else would they define themselves if they didnt use their stick?

The idea of a life without sex is impossible for them. Worse, they insult others who find a meaningful life without the need of sex.

If they only knew that women could care less. And their stick competitions are nothing more than cavemen chest-thumping-rights amongst themselves.

So how could they imagine a life, never mind a relationship, without using their sticks? The vast majority of people equate sex with love.

Kudos to you and your spouse for rising above the bonds of physical entrapments.

People who have an aversion to sex are always ugly, fat, and generally grostesque and their sexual malaise is nature's way of preventing such defective genetics from spreading. This particular OP got her hymen shredded by some cowboy who rawdogged a load and fled the scene. Her emotions, like her hymen, will never heal and now she has built a defence mechanism that she is somehow superior from conducting the very act that created her current mental state. Now she has found a husband that is playing along, for now, with the sexless and ultimately loveless marriage. He is either a secret cum guzzler, OR a brow beaten straight male who will someday overindulge in Budweisers at some neighbour's bbq and then either fuck a neighbors wife to smithereens or come home and beat and fuck said celibate wife when she protests such barbarism. Asexual relationships = friendship.

Marriage or partnerships (even just dating, haha) ought to take it further - to that bliss place you find with great sex. The most natural thing in the world for us humans.

Why in the world you would call that 'disgusting' is beyond me.

Re: 'We're married, we just don't have sex'
Asexual relationships = friendship.

Marriage or partnerships (even just dating, haha) ought to take it further - to that bliss place you find with great sex. The most natural thing in the world for us humans. Why in the world you would call that 'disgusting' is beyond me.

But to each his own OP. As long as you're happy.

Sex is a bodily function, like going to the toilet. If someone bragged about their poop all the time what would you think of them?
Take your dogma and shove it!

Life is not about what happens to you, it's about how you deal with it.

Re: 'We're married, we just don't have sex'
In response to my earlier posting from my own very old Catholic perspective, wherein I maintained that the sexual act is sin, with a quote from King David in the Psalms (page 5 of this thread), a couple of people provided Bible verses also.

I need to point out that in the omniscience of God, the Fall of Adam and Eve was foreknown... and that in Genesis 2:24, the reference to the man leaving his parents to cleave to his wife to become "one flesh" was describing a future contingency -- since clearly Adam had no parents he would be leaving, obviously.

In the New Testament, after 4,000 years of human history, Jesus Christ, and later the Apostle Paul (who was the author of the Letters to the Corinthians, as well as The Book of Hebrews in the N.T.), acknowledged that men and women would continue to marry and bear children.

Please note the famous quote "the marriage bed undefiled" is a misstranslation which correctly reads: "The marriage bed SHOULD BE undefiled." You can check this for yourself in numerous KJV scholarly references, or your pastor can confirm it for you, if he has a proper library.

Similarly, the Apostle Paul's advice, and I paraphrase, "Marry, or burn" is his way of helping people to handle a reality of everyday life, where the majority of people will never put God first, and their lusts second.

Religious marriage vows and family life were instituted to provide human beings with a compromise, adjusted to their inability to control their physical natures and fight Satan's seductions.

Couples married in the Church go to heaven, having practised sexual gratification throughout their lives.

As a former Assemblies of God licensed Pastor, and now a baptized and confirmed pre-20th century Catholic (don't get me started on Vatican II), I have thought these matters out carefully over the years.

Don't forget what Jesus said about eunuchs - "for the kingdom of heaven's sake." Here is the passage in its full context from Matthew 19:

Matthew 19

King James Version (KJV)

19 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

It doesn't bother me. Good for you but I enjoy pleasing the woman I love. Remember though you would not be here now if your parents didn't. :)
