According to "The Revelations of St. Bridget," an 800-page book which I am in the process of reading on-line, supernatural locutions to this 14th-century nun were recorded in which Jesus Christ personally told her that purity and celibacy are treasures in the sight of God, and physical lust is a sin.

The continuation of the human race through procreation is not the highest value to God. The disobedience of Adam and Eve resulted in their banishment from the Garden of Eden, and the subsequent births of Cain and Abel.

God is merciful, knowing our sinful natures. He endeavours to help us find the truth, and faith.

The highest value, the desire of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, is the salvation of the soul.

Sexual pleasure is a deception of Satan. That fiend of hell is always there in the bed... in the mind... in the attitude...
