Webcam On The Roof Of Neumayer Station May Never Be Switched Back On Again | |

I sent the Alfred-Wegener-Institut this message a few weeks ago - Hello, I have noticed that your webcam on the roof of Neumayer III to the south has been out of service for quite a few months now. I was just curious as to when it is expected to be back in service? And the reason(s) as to why it has been out of service for such an extended period of time? Many thanks... They replied back to me today. This is what they had to say - the roof webcam was demounted because obviously they wanted to set it up at a different location. For some reason this did not work out. By the language used you were talking to a non-english speaking individual, at least as a first language. What I have seen in dealing with europeans, is that their message may sound cryptic to the untrained ear. In this instance the speaker was trying to communicate that they took the camera off of the roof with the intent of putting it in another location, but never got around to re-installing it. Since it's cold as fuck, they might not even bother. Hope this helps. I'm tired of waiting, somebody push the damn button already! Keep your 72 virgins, give me one old biker chick. |
