No. Cali storm has arrived
With a roar and roof rumbling the initial force of this storm has arrive, just an 1 1/2 north of Sacramento, at 11:15 pst our power went out for just a few minutes then restored and the wind hitting with a eerie sensation unfamiliar. We've has strong winds in the past, but this went from nearly no wind to 50~60mph rather quickly. Very little rain at this time.
Lights are still on, taking surveys outside I found a cotton tail hiding on our back porch.
Going to be a long nite.

Same here on the coast, brief power outage, shitload of rain. Worst is still over 200 miles to the north. This is certainly going to cause some flooding.

Up in the foothills here in Norcal...heavy gusts and lots of rain so far. Power is still on so that's good. While driving home from work in my Tacoma tonight, a very strong gust slammed into my truck and nearly slid me off the road! But I was able to fight it. Stay safe everyone.

Here in the Anchorage area we are having very high winds, it's the upper part of that storm. I'm in Palmer and our winds are very strong, tomorrow we're suppose to have gusts up to 80 mph.

That's what happened here in south central Alaska, it started earlier for us around noon, but the winds came on all of a sudden like 40 mph from nothing. It's been blowing ever since. No snow or rain though.

Yeah, the wind out in the Valley (Wasilla) has been non stop so it seems so far this winter, was blowing gravel at my windows all night! Glad we don't have snow on the ground now or it would be bad with drifts and whiteouts. Stay safe west coast!!!

Re: No. Cali storm has arrived
So far this storm has been tame (Monterey CA) and not at all doom worthy.
Still, we have two days worth of wet heading our way ---
Come Sunday I may next be writing from the bottom of the bay.

**From the 'Bad Memories' file:
when i first moved here i was thrilled to be near the Monterey Bay Aquarium
(as it was featured in one of my fave films,
"Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home").
Upon my first visit to the aquarium I was shocked and dismayed to find out
there wasn't a single whale to be found in the joint!
Damn you Hollywood! Fooled again!
