Mold poisoning from a survivors perspective with experience
Hi ! Well glad you made it to this post/topic. For those of you who suspect you have mold poisoning I'd be glad to help in any way I can. You see mold almost killed me ten years ago. Very little compared to today was available on the net. Had to do so much of my own research back then. Lucky for me first that I even survived with most of my brain intact. I've got about 2 boxes full of info on my own case and related info.
Briefly I lived for almost 2 years in a 100 yr old plus house close to beach.
Full of mold (estimated probably at around 70 varieties) plus lead paint. Top it off with a landlord who is an artist who works with plastics immediately next to the little guest house that I thought was a little dream house as overpriced as it was , turned out to be my worst nightmare.
So I've been studying mold poisoning ever since. Lucky for me that in high school in the early 80's my art history teacher had told our class the Salem Witch hunts were most likely due to the whole town having mold poisoning - ergot! The whole town probably ate mold bread. At town in France in 1950's experienced this as well. I also saw a Chinese film where the Emperor slowly poisons his Empress wife by having the Imperial dr's give her tea with mold added to it to kill her slowly and drive her insane along the way. Why do I say lucky because had I not known these facts I'd be most likely dead by now, because even though I saw great doctors they could not figure out why I was so sick. UCLA almost killed me after my initial drs couldn't figure it out. Because I did so much research I found some environmental expert doctors who saved me.
It's a long road to recovery and hopefully I can point some of you in the right directions. At first no one believed me not even my family. My heart goes out to you all who maybe suffering from mold or any other environmental toxins for that matter. I'm happy to be of service if I can and I know how debilitating and heartbreaking this can be firsthand.
Please be wary of articles that say there isn't enough evidence, that's utter bs to protect insurance companies , rich landlords, hospitals from malpractice suits and big pharma! This is real and deadly as well as can be life-long debilitating. Here to help wherever I can as a fellow survivor.
As soon as I unpack some more I will find my mold list that's cost me a few grand to get but I give it freely to help others.
First get out! Second get dwelling inspected by health dept official. 3rd document as much as possible, take pictures ( with newspapers as to dates) get samples tested, be sure to document and write letters if you are a tenant. Do not believe you landlord if he tells you just clean it with bleach!
This is not enough and people clean mold with basically hazmat suits for good reason- it's that toxic!

Thanks OP!

I learned that there a five molds that can kill you, while most post mortum tells you that the patient died of a heart attack.

There a far more molds that can kill you.
Molds can be nasty and very often they ruin your immune system and often leads to auto-immune diseases and cancers.

Yes there is an extremely long list of diseases one can get. I have 2 boxes of info just in regards to my own case. Studied the subject ever since my sickness from it almost killed me from it about 3x. I'll try and dig for the list of diseases and list that helped me recover. In boxes at moment. It's a tragic list of serious ailments like cancer, Lou Gerhigs (sp?) disease. Thyroid failure, Tumors both benign and malignant! And on and on....I'm an LMT who has also a background in Chinese herbalism. So I've studied pathology , physiology etc. please excuse my lengthy discussion but seriously what I've learned about it is volumes of info. My passion for understanding it is primarily to help others like myself understand it and not be deceived by agency's like CDC and the AMA who would try to have you believe it's not serious and that facts are inconclusive that have been known to other cultures outside of US for centuries. Yes I agree too with what you are saying is possible.

I had toxic encephalitis! I've known of a child who has brain cancer and his sister told me his mom got the school he attended shut down entirely from mold infestation and yet his sister tells me his mom is unsure if its related. The same mom who had school closed! I begged her to take him to the ND I went to who is environmental head of Naturopathic school I continued treatment with after seeing expert toxicologist in another state I started with. It's a deadly neurotoxin!

And a host of other illness along with encephalitis because of mold. Thyroid failure, rashes , pneumonia, chronic bronchitis and probably early sterility as well.

Along with Stachybotrys was Aspergillis and many more. An estimate from the photos I have from Dr said I was probably exposed to over 70 types in my case. Along with lead paint and plastics. These are serious dangers from a 100 yr plus house I lived in for almost 2 years. It was in the walls and the floors underneath the carpets. The plastics was from landlord who makes plastic sculptures immediately next to where I lived. His studio was 2ft away from me.

Re: Mold poisoning from a survivors perspective with experience
My experience was that I was exposed to a high number of what's called VOC's Volatile Organic Compounds. Mycotoxicosis.
Short list sofar- btw I used to find info on the long list of diseases much easier a few years ago. Now I'm wading through tons of crap from CDC and doctors who only scratch the surface and try to downplay the seriousness of mold poisoning.
So short but serious and incomplete list of diseases associated with mold poisoning

Multiple Sclerosis
COPD
Crohns
Depression
Learning disabilities and cognitive
Chronic Fatigue
IBS
Bells Palsy
Fibromyalgia
HIV/AIDs
Lou Gerhigs
Edometreosis
Visual Impairment
Cancer
Thyroid diseases - hypo and Hashimoto's
And psychosis

HIV and Aids because mold is a neurotoxin and impairs the immune
System so one can be more susceptible to the virus. My first Dr wanted to put me through full body cancer scans and HIV/Aids testing along with neurological and psychological testing.

Certain forms of mold can be used in biological warfare
ie: Aflatoxin and Trichothecenes

Have one friend exposed to numerous VOC's that has Morgellans
Hard to say if its from mold or other additional VOC exposure. Morgellans is still a mystery.

Read a great book by a woman suffering from Anti-NMDA- receptor auto- immune encephalitis called Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan
Towards conclusion I found it interesting that her doctor was starting to see /study new connections being recently discovered between brain swelling illness and Schitzophernia and Bi- Polar disorder! New studies in Japan and US are possibly finding connections !
