Gold seems like a waste since it can just be stolen at a checkpoint or something. Maybe coins, or antiques. There is a diamond mine in Syria I think, that has enough diamonds to last 3,000 years. So diamonds won't work. Can't eat diamonds either.  hrm. Maybe paintings or something. Antique toys...
