Yes, it does suck, but it will work out. Get the parts you need from the salvage yard and just do the best you can to fix it back up again.

It is very difficult for families these days, the stress of finances and kids, it's so difficult.

But, it will work out in the end.

Hahaha I remember doing this with an old farm truck in the winter. No doors and the only glass was the front windshield. Thank god the heater worked really well.

My husband was my first concern...this happened hours ago and now that I know he's ok, and the initial shock and being scared has settled a bit - now the financial thing is just hitting me.

yeah that's the plan until we can (hopefully) find cheap parts. I guess if I can just get the parts - the paint can wait - will look alittle funny to have 2, or maybe 3, colors, but it'd be manageable.

Getting your kids what they want should be the last of your worries. It sucked when times were tough as a kid and xmas wasn't as "grand" as the year before but your priorities seem a bit skewed. Actually no, I'm not mad at him at all.....I know he feels bad, but it wasnt his fault - this fucking town is too damn cheap to PROPERLY take care of the roads when they get snowy/icy. I know he wasnt going too fast - he is such a careful driver....

f--- you!!! My husband does not drink - at all....he is the most careful driver I know - and he was on his way to work. He was in tears cause he feels so bad about this. He knows how much it meant to both of us to finally save up enough for the car.....and with our kids....yeah lets just say he's pretty upset too. But he doesn't drink you jerk.

Maybe your piece of shit husband who's lucky to have his life can get a fucking job or hike his ass off the couch and put down Call of Duty long enough to do some actual manual labor, at the goddamn carwash if he has to.

Well Amy, it sounds like you're not the only one having a bad day. It sounds like MO is too. That was really harsh but predictive of the state of mind people are in and how fed up they are. Sometimes people jump on others who don't deserve it. I have seen your posts and you're a good person. Keep your head up. Get the kids the few things you can get by with. It's times like this when less is more. The kids learn to appreciate things more but it's hard I know. I have two children also. I have btdt with relying on liability ins. when times were tough and using it a few months at a time. I remember how it felt to hope and pray a wreck didn't happen. You'll get through the fire. It makes you stronger and makes you humble. Do what you can to patch it up and keep fighting the good fight. It sounds like you and your husband are hard workers. This too shall pass.

Sorry op .I hope you find cheap parts at a junkyard.I myself hit a deer on the 14th and am still getting the run-around from my insurance company who hav not paid a dime or sent a adjuster even though the accident was 1 mile from them .The truck was towed a report made and i had a new windshield put in the fender and door is damaged and the grille nothing just crickets from the insurance company and i have full coverage and towing .Then they inform me they are not paying for towing or a rental or loaner or asked if i was ok .great now im pissed agean
