Re: Selling a vehicle - thoughts?
first put in a link for where the truck is listed.

I had a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 84,000 had every option, beautiful, perfect car. Worth 12,000 - 13,000 thousand.

Just sold it for $10,000.

Problem - gas is 4.00 buck a gallon. They look at your truck and see 8 miles to the gallon, maybe 10. A truck is a truck is a truck.

Tell us the size of the engine and mod made to it.

It's really not, trust me, i'm not hating. But in this economy bro it's just not realistic unless you find the right clientele to buy it. It really depends on how long you wanna sit on it, if you don't need the money now, sit on it at 10.5 come tax season someone will buy it if it's as nice as you say it is.

You might try ebay. They do have local classifieds on there. When we inherited my FIL's jaguar we listed it online(can't think of it but it was for luxury vehicles) and got a offer really quick. Sold it for blue book value too. Good luck OP. Hope you can sell your truck hf

What you are failing to hear is that the 89 Dog was a Dodge

You mean to say the mechanic didn't advise you against sinking all kind of money in an 89 Dog?

Show me one 89 Dodge that has sold for 10K

Go and try local garages , post a flyer in local shops, give a dozen or so flyers to local business receptionists etc. (Receptionists / security guards tend to be the most lazy bastards you will ever meet in life, but the minority who are nice people will go out of their way to help you, same for every profession I suppose.)

If you sell to a local car merchant / online etc you will lose out on a lot of cash.

Just write specs / take a pic and print it off, then hand them around. Also scrap / junk / breaker yards would be the best place to try.

If your trying to get a new truck I would suggest you offer the show truck as trade + cash for a new one. Not to a dealer but an independent seller. Trade on that truck would be more than cash I'd bet.

Re: Selling a vehicle - thoughts?
I'd give you 6k not a penny more. And that's if I had the money and actually wanted a truck. You'll probably have to go lower than that unless you try to sell it in tax season.
 Quoting: aliensbro

This guy's got the right number. Trucks don't sell for much these days. Goddamn hippies and they're global warming nonsense. I WOULD pay more, but I know you're not exactly going to have people coming out of the woodwork to give you an offer.

A friend of mine needed a couple more vehicles to make the magic number 100, so i DROVE my 89 dodge up to the crusher and videoed its glorious conclusion.
They asked why i was crushing it? I told them because it's an 89 Dodge.
True story.

Re: Selling a vehicle - thoughts?
There's a great saying in life. It's not WHAT you know it's WHO you know.

My dad got a van for like £3600 when it would go for easily £8,000 in the condition it was in. A favour from a friend if you like.

My advice to you would be to not let go of the car if you don't feel happy with the offer, unless it's to a family friend.

Re: Selling a vehicle - thoughts?
OF all the vehicles to "build" FFS

Hey OP the same reason you are looking to get a new vehicle is the same reason no one will pay what you think it will "sell" for

It rides like a truck and is uncomfortable as hell and with a 6 inch lift can be dangerous on the street

I will pause in torturing you momentarily to inquire just how much money did you pay for the truck and how much did you put into it?
