" The IRS is probably the most hated institution in America – mainly because its primary role is to force people to hand over their hard-earned cash. This modern equivalent of the proverbial tax collector indeed collects money from American workers and gives it to a government that will, in turn, use this money to send drones abroad or to build information superstructures to better monitor these same workers. What’s not to like? "

Not quite...it takes money from a single mom that works 3 jobs so that corporate raiders like Blankfien and Hank Paulson can siphon enormous amounts of wealth offf the other working class...they swindle mom into buying a home, then take ,not only her hard earned cash, but the house as well, crash their own company....and go to Fed Gov for a handout..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29027739

Everybody should contribute to society, the way our society is set up is via money. So the easiest way for people to contribute is to pay their taxes.

Is it the best option, I don't know, probably not.

There are alternatives like each individual performing some type of public services (unpaid of course) or providing food and other necessities to their neighbors if they have excess crops and etc.

It's not the taxation that is corrupted, it is some of the tax handlers currently in place, the ones who have authority about where these tax dollars are diverted.

Taxes are not all used for bad things, they are also used for good.

Try this, instead of looking for all the bad things, look for the good and ways to make them better. I'm not saying 'ignore' the bad, especially considering how much bad there is now, but you will have a better outlook on life.

I read all these posts so often where people are complaining about how bad everything is, yet the do not offer a solution.

How's the phrase go, 'Put Up or Shut Up'... this phrase is not directed towards any one person in particular, it is just a good one to remember.

What taxes would you be refering to. Income? or any of the other 200+ taxes we pay on a daily basis
 Quoting: WAKEUPAMERICA01

A fair tax would be a single tax across the board. We should not have to pay taxes on EVERYTHING. I am not an accountant or anything like that - just a tax payer.

As I mentioned earlier, there should be public responsibilities for every able bodied citizen. It is our duty (in my opinion, to each their own).

I think there should be choices, you can perform community services to avoid taxation and if you are not comfortable doing that then you should pay an income tax to maintain our basic needs. Not sales tax, there should not be a tax for every transaction. Once you have paid you taxes on that one dollar, you should not pay anymore - unless you want to donate it.

Once again, I don't know how that would work out for our economy, but it sounds good to me :)

When we are taxed 10 times for every dollar we earn, that indicates that the tax collectors are getting to greedy or we have some serious unnecessary spending.

Taxes should be used to protect ourselves and to make sure everybody is looked after. We shouldn't have to fund endeavors that do not involve our national security.

.

@oLOVEz

Your post is a mass of confusion.

There is only ONE God, the God of the Bible, the God of Israel.

The Masonic "god" is a deist false-god.

The deist concept of "god" is generic and impersonal.

The Masonic false-god is NOT the God of the Bible.

.
 Quoting: Atossa 18850150

That's funny, considering the Mason's i've met have been mostly Baptist. And there is a sect especially for Christians called the "Knights Templar".

Have you been a Mason, or are you just relaying the rumors you've read?

Do you believe in Lizard people?
 Quoting: oLOVEz

It's sad that you resort to mocking. This man speaks the truth. It's common knowledge that you blue lodge masons are greatly deceived by your higher-ups into thinking it's a 'Christian' organization. Their is NOTHING Christian about masonry. It's occult roots are dipped in blood of its victims. It's power is demonic. It's members WILL answer to God for their crimes.

I don't care how many turkeys they hand out for Thanksgiving to make themselves look good, every gangster organization knows that trick. You lower level masons are cannonfodder for your organization....without even knowing it. I'd step away from that organization before you go down in flames with it. It's days are numbered. They cannot control what they seek to control. The rebuilding of the Temple Solomon will only bring about their ultimate destruction.

God controls all.
 Quoting: mrclean

I appreciate your attention, however, I am not a Mason nor am I affiliated with their organization whatsoever.

I am just giving my honest opinion from what I have seen. I haven't seen anything negative, only positive - specifically the Shriners.

Even if I buy a land I have to pay property tax on it so technically I dont OWN it because if im out of money I loose the land .

It's called society. Unfortunately not everybody can and will agree to the same thing.

Nobody asked to be born. I see your point of view, and you are entitled to that. Yet, I am sorry you feel that because you did not ask to be born that everybody else can go f themselves.

I hate to be the one to say this, as I don't believe it, but you do have options... you can move elsewhere without a society as ours and live in a peaceful secluded jungle, most likely in another country and become one with the animals.

It may be awesome, but it also may be devastating.

I personally wouldn't mind not having to pay taxes ever, but I would still choose to try to do my part, however insignificant it be to contribute to the world around me.

I often thinking about moving to jungle actually but I would prefer somewhere by the ocean , preferably in warm climate . Do you know any place like that ? Where I can be totally free and independent , and local government leaves me alone . As for contribution to society , in my opinion about 70% + of the working people does not contribute anything . Does damage on the contrary . Its too long to explain why I think this way but think of this , are we as humans are better off today with everything we have then we were just hunters , star gazers and wonderers , when there was no money , pollution , governments , etc. ?

Re: IRS Headquarters in Maryland
...

As a free person ( who did not ask to be born in this world btw. ) I refuse a notion that I MUST contribute to the society . Why shod I ? Do I owe someone ? I also refuse the notion that in order for me to exist I need to pay . Somehow happens that I were born and all land is owned by someone .

 Quoting: oLOVEz

I often thinking about moving to jungle actually but I would prefer somewhere by the ocean , preferably in warm climate . Do you know any place like that ? Where I can be totally free and independent , and local government leaves me alone . As for contribution to society , in my opinion about 70% + of the working people does not contribute anything . Does damage on the contrary . Its too long to explain why I think this way but think of this , are we as humans are better off today with everything we have then we were just hunters , star gazers and wonderers , when there was no money , pollution , governments , etc. ?

After watching this... America should be like what you described...

Disgusting.
