This is my neck of the woods. I posted a thread about it a couple of months back when it was just 5 kids in one school. It's since spread to my kids' schools. I've received calls from the school corp. regarding the situation.
The superintendent is saying the reason for the outbreak is "unknown". Yet, they're pushing vaccinations even though most of the cases were vaccinated students. He also said they will be even more strict about vaccinations next year.

I don't remember the local news station covering our neighborhood outbreak of chicken pox :) We all survived pretty much without incident. I remember the kids were not happy, but the parents were glad we were all sick at the same time & that it was during the summer, not during school. If I remember correctly there were several friends of our parents that brought their kids over to play with us specifically so they would get chicken pox & get it over with. Both of my kids had chicken pox without incident. I was glad when it was over though :)Way too many vaccines today, most don't work or make things worse.
