I turned mine into a "family tree". I hang lots of pictures of our family members. No star, no balls, same brilliance.

I agree. I am a Christian and find the "holy days" appalling, blasphemous and idolatrous. So does God:

Yes, Christmas trees have pagan roots...
but they are mentioned in the Bible.

" For the customs of the people are vain:
for one cutteth a tree out of the forest,
the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

They deck it with silver and with gold;
they fasten it with nails and with hammers,
that it move not. "

Jeremiah 10:3-4

Martin Luther made the Christmas tree popular....
the tradition brought to America by German immigrants.

Duh, the "Christians" stole all the pagan holidays so people wouldn't have to give up their traditions to convert, read some books. Maybe you'll figure out there was a lot more around before Christianity, and it isn't the be all end all it's cracked up to be, just basic mind control.

I hope you're kidding. Again, a stolen holiday from the Celtic "pagans" called Samhain. It's really sad you all don't seem to know your history at all. Samhain was a celebrated holiday long before Chritianity came around.

Samhain's History
Samhain (pronounced Sow-en), dates back to the ancient Celts who lived 2,000 years ago. Contrary to what some believe, is not a celebration of a Celtic god of the dead. Instead, it is a Celtic word meaning "summer's end." The Celts believed that summer came to an end on October 31st and the New Year began on November 1st with the start of winter. But the Celts also followed a lunar calendar and their celebrations began at sunset the night before.

Many today see Halloween as the pagan holiday. But that's not really accurate. As the pagan holiday of Samhain is on November 1st. But their celebrations did and still do, start at sunset on October 31st, on Samhain Eve. During the day on October 31st, the fires within the home are extinguished. Often families would engage in a good "fall" cleaning to clear out the old and make way for the new. Starting the winter months with fresh and clean household items.

Actually that's what I thought before I learned further, it's talking about the cross! That many Christians now revere as holy or sacred. Continue reading...."like a scarecrow, their idols cannot walk..."

Think about it. The Cross is an idol! It was used to kill people. It killed our savior, why would we have anything to do with it??

There is plenty to say but I'm tired and nobody seems to care anymore. Christmas is bad, too. If you really claim to love God, then take some time to see how God wants to be loved. Sunday service-Pagan, too! Sun god worshipping wrapped up to lead people to hell. 7th day is Saturday folks! Jesus and apostles kept Saturday-you should too.

Matt 7:13-14. That's why the gate to heaven is narrow and few find it. Also many people will be shocked when they're sent to hell, because bible already prophesied they thought they were doing right. Matt 7:21-23
