It's fun to comfort yourself with nostalgia, isn't it? Unfortunately, it's all re-imagined fantasy. It's a psychological phenomenon: humans tend to look back at the highlights of their life and the low points get blurred, creating the illusion of "past superiority". I can guarantee you the 60's and 70's had just as much horrible shit going on on various levels
