Some of my favorite Thrash Metal Crunches are within the bands of Sepultura, Bolt Thrower, and GWAR.
All three of these bands have a symbol in common with one another. They all have "hidden" within' their artwork the eight pointed symbol of Chaos.
More specifically, the symbol of Chaos from the Warhammer(40K) Universe. The game started in the U.K., however, all three of these bands are from different continents.
Bolt Thrower - U.K., GWAR - U.S.A., Sepultura - Brazil.
That being said, with this song in particular, my favorite crunches are @ 0:40, 1:40, & 2:40.
Regnum Irae means Kingdom of Wrath in Latin.
My favorite lyric is at 3:10 - "Living in a dying age; Persecute the Human Race."
Metal is a form of satire. It shows you an extreme negative, thus revealing a message of truth that many seem to never understand. Typically because the lyrics and melody are too fast to keep up with or want to understand. But these artists are in a way ahead of their time in trying to tell people the reality of the way things are; there are some that do not want to know. So there you go. But when these bands sing or play about war, death, destruction, they are in a way using reverse psychology, thus turning people away from that road to destruction. It also allows people to express their anger in a musical form, instead of keeping in bottled inside awaiting to explode at the most in opportune moments.
As of late, I have also learned that listening to profuse amounts of metal in turn destroys your taste for contemporary music.
Only the insane have the strength to prosper. Only those that prosper, judge what is sane.
