Didn't the pope just announce Jesus was likely born years earlier than thought and doesn't that automatically throw the current calendar into question? Is it 2012 or 2004? or 1983? And what does it matter?

December 21st will come and go and I, too, am wondering what the next big doom day will be. I think people are so focused on the elusive big stuff that all the "small stuff" like pollution of every kind, societal decay, financial instability, solar activity, earthquakes, and population trends will remain poorly out of focus for those seeking bigger doom. Doom loving is sad and pathetic. It IS a form of addiction. Step back and see the big picture of our current reality in 2012...TEOTWAWKI, for me, came and went. It's all downhill from here no matter how you look at it.
