I got "the flu", don't know why people make such a big deal over it honestly, I guess it's because I am 20 years old and healthy... I go to work with it no problem, just a minor annoyance.

I stopped getting vaccines about 4 years ago, have been sick less since.

50,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day for 3 days will do the trick. And maintain your vitamin D level by taking 5,000 IU a day till you reach summer. You won't catch cold, flu, etc. Basically your "universal" vaccine against all kinds of strains of flu, cold, etc.

Sure, why not? Many fools took the flu vaccine, right on cue. Now we have many with the flu. Sounds about right.

I find it amazing that employers can threaten manadatory flu vaccines, threatening dismissal of employees who don't comply. This has to violate our constitutional rights.

For those of you who are faced with this delema & don't want the flu shot, see your family doc. Relay to him that the last time you receiced a flu vaccination you experienced an itchy rash head to toe, heaviness in your chest making it hard to breath & wheezing for 2-3 days. You took Bendryl for 3 days to alieviate the symptoms, but you were miserable & are afraid this time the symtoms may be even more intense.

Most intelligent Docs will write you an excuse stating that you are allergic to the flu shot. Problem solved. No employer will risk being sued for big bucks just to make you take a flut shot. They are chicken shits!

Each must decide for themselves, but before you take anything, investigate, investigate, investigate. Just because something is presented as good, does not make it so!

My gym has a stand up tanning booth...it has a kick ass sound system too, I go in after a workout and a shower, pop a beer and feel like I'm enjoying a warm sunny day in my backyard :)

I take supplements too, but tanning alone gives you tons of D.

I stay on Vit D 4000 a day normally. Hubby got sick last week because he hasn't been taking his. I felt the sore throat coming on early in the morning one day and took 10000 right away and stayed on the high dose for three days before dropping it back down to 4000. The sore throat disappeared on day one and I didn't catch his flu.

Here is a tip. At the first sign of the flu, take Oscillococcinum. If the symptoms go away then you had the flu and averted it.

Only works if you do at the first sign.

Sometimes early flu symptoms mimic spinal discomfort so if Oscillococcinum works you know it ws the flu.

Otherwise, you have an injury and Oscillococcinum will not have any effect.

Anyway, this has worked within my group successfully for over twenty years.

I think that has a lot to do with increased respiratory infections. When the air is dry, minute cracks form in the respiratory lining.. just like parched soil forms cracks. Microorganisms can easily invade through the cracks.

It's so important to keep a humidifier running, when the mucuosal lining is kept moist it plumps up eliminating the cracks. If you can't afford a humidifier, then boil a pot of water on the stove. But remember, humidifiers are breeding grounds for bacteria.. they need to be kept really clean.. don't just keep adding water. You have to clean in between each filling. Colloidal silver is an excellent anti microbial to add to the water.
