Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1530252 Thanks for shinning this pit! And you guys saying we need to fix things: well, let me tell you we are trying. We now have the most powerful mafia in the world. The richest man, together with the bloodiest gang members operate in one of the most lucrative business circles. Drugs, weapons, telecomunications, oil, coffee and cheap labor. The problems in Mexico are the problems of the world. For the US it is obvious, for Latin America its mostly drugs and telecomunications. For Europe and Asia, the problems influence the economy, the drug trade and the flux and competition of cheap labor together with the demand of sweatshops at a convenient location. We are now in a global system and butterfly wings are flapping everywhere. We all need to participate and defend human rights everywhere, if not it will catch up to you anywhere. This person understands. Thank you, y mucho respecto. Mi corazon esta con Mexico |

While there may be a few disgruntled people the country is not out marching and rioting. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28219364 The OP is talking shit. I am just reporting what I am seeing. And I think there is much consideration on Peña´s rule so as to not rule out this is the beginning of a lot to come. This thread is not BS, it very well may be the start of a lot of repression and bullying that could lead to massive unrest. You say I am talking shit but I seem much more informed on what the people are talking about than you. I am constantly and inquisitively scanning channels. What are you doing? Watching MSM and telenovelas? Go cry to your illiterate president putito. |

Quoting: Zedakah Monopolies. Carlos Slim, richest man in the world made a huge chunk of his fortune through telecomunications. The service is now available throughout SouthAmerica and growing. He is constantly avoiding monopolistic laws and is known to be a corporate bully with little scruples. Ahh ok, that name sounds familiar. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 16790152 United States 12/01/2012 01:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | " Peña Nieto was declared President-elect after the Mexican general election was declared valid by the Federal Electoral Tribunal.[1][3] He assumed the office on 1 December 2012,[1] succeeding Felipe Calderón as President of Mexico, thereby marking the return to power of the party that ruled Mexican politics for 71 consecutive years." "Nonetheless, the return of the PRI was not welcomed by everyone.[11] Marches against Peña Nieto have drawn thousands of people across Mexico, particularly from the Yo Soy 132 student movement, who protested supposed voting irregularities and alleged media bias.[12][13] Others protested that during its time in power, the PRI became a symbol of corruption, repression, economic mismanagement, and electoral fraud, and many Mexicans and urban dwellers worried that its return may signify a return to Mexico's past." "After ruling for most of the past century in Mexico, the return of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) has brought hope to those who gave the PRI another chance and fear to those who worry about the old PRI tactics of making deals with the cartels in exchange for relative peace." "In 2006, Felipe Calderón chose to make the battle against organized crime the centerpiece of his presidency. Nonetheless, with over 60,000 dead, many Mexican citizens are tired of a fight they had first supported." "According to The Guardian, Peña Nieto's "young, telegenic and impeccably smooth" image has helped gloss over the PRI's reputation of corruption and authoritarianism" "Some of his adversaries, however, said that the "polls were manipulated" and that the PRI was taking advantage of the poor to gain votes, instead of relying on informed vote" "Other media outlets like CBS News have stated that Peña Nieto is the "new face of the old guard," "In an article written by Los Angeles Times on 9 July 2012, Peña Nieto is described as a "man of mystery" whose real convictions – as perceived in the eyes of many Mexicans – remain in doubt." Anonymous Coward User ID: 24957083 United States 12/01/2012 02:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's because there's massive propaganda against Mexico, so most people don't really know what's going on in Mexico, especially in the US. Even those close to the southern border don't know squat about what's going in Mexico. They know more what's going on in Canada than there is in Mexico, even though there are tons of reporters in Mexico from the US and Mexicans. There's even more propaganda going ever since Mexico is growing economically and is becoming quite competitive against the US. |
