What does censorship mean to you

Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body.

I believe hate speech should be censored, racism etc. As well as profanity

I've lived in third world countries and I can tell you we are being monitored but not censored, at least not yet.

I'm not sure what this reply means or why the bs lag but the QUESTION not comment was simple do YOU believe in censorship?

Some speech will always be censored, but on average I believe in the free flow of information.

I find it interesting and I think Trin does too (I could be wrong) that people will scream bloody murder about censorship but when given the chance will censor someone themselves.

I remember people screaming censorship and first amend rights at Trin then he gave you the ability to ban (censor) whom ever you please on your threads and guess hat happened CENSORSHIP!

I watched the "freedom fighters" go on about it then when given the chance started pushing lightly those same people and guess what. Banned from their threads because I simply didn't agree. I would consider that censorship, it wasn't something the mods would take action over but the OP just didn't want to hear anything but what supported them.

The results are very interesting. It's also interesting the answers to a simple question.

So how many of you AWAKE free thinker have people banned from your threads?

Should people be able to ban from their own threads and how is that not censorship?

If you don't believe that Nazis and racists should be able to state their viewpoints in public, then you are just as bad as they are.

As a concept, you have to believe because it is real. You can see it every day. Is it right? NO! There are some forms of censorship that are necessary though. You wouldn't want young children turning on the TV to watch cartoons, and see instead, hard-core porn. But since you can't legislate morals, or intelligence, some censorship is needed. Unfortunately, our country is heading down the slope toward censorship of ideas. Censoring ideas is a way to silence the opposition. When you position is indefensable, you have to shut up you detractors. This is the very dangerous path that King Barry is leading us down right now.
