I believe maybe the poster is stating the obvious, no matter what "team" one is on, it is all specualtion, or should we call it "faith". The mere fact that these religions preach one goes to eternal hell fire for getting those "questions wrong humans dont have the answers to" should be one's first red flag.

The similarities are superficial at best. There is nothing that in any way resembles the fall of man through the temptation of Eve, land with many other vast differences. I've had to sit through countless masses and confessions. I had to study the bible and pick out stories and find the "meaning" of them. Countless hours of indocrination. I know all about the bible and all its stories and I dont believe any of it

Do you honestly think the story of GENESIS is real? Do you honestly think the earth was created in 6 days?. Do you honestly think that god ordered the hebrew midwives to kill all male babies in Egypt. Do you honestly believe that noah built a boat big enough to house 2 of every animal? Do you honestly believe that noah parted the red sea and closed it on the Egyptian army. Do you honestly believe that jesus turned 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish in to enough food to feed 5000 men. If you do then I feel bad for you.

I dont consider myself an atheist or an evolutionist, but I certainly DON'T consider myself affiliated with any "God" or religion for that matter. As a matter of fact ALL religions, when you really sit down and think about it, are based off the same thing.

They are all a collection of the same stories that primitive man wrote to explain things and events that happened to them, in a way that they would understand. The original bible had ALOT more stories then you believe, only the "best" ones made it into the bible. Not to mention that alot of the stories were written at different times(somestimes timeframes spanning hundreds of years), by different people(hundreds in fact), has been editied coutless times, retold, translated, and shrunken down to the size it is now.


Christians themselves contradict one another with their explanation of the stories of the bible. Some believe that the earth was created in 6 days. Some say that it wasnt 6 days in our time but actually 6 "biblical days"(however long that is, well who the hell knows). Some say the earth is only 6000+ years old. I ask where is the evidence. Show me the proof that it was. If the earth was created that fast surely we should have been able to observe other similar events with all the technology now, and the ability to look at the stars. But no we havent. Some believe that noah actually did part the red sea and close it on the advancing pharaoh, but there is no documented accounts of any pharaoh ever perishing in that way. You would think that if the ENTIRE EGYPTIAN ARMY INCLUDING THE PHARAOH failed to return that would be a big thing and be documented accordingly. There was a news report on CNN just last week regarding the fact that some christian scholars now believe that the nativity didnt happen as we all thought. They now believe that there was no animals, no gifts, no manger, that it was all made up. For something that is supposedly "fact", that is alot of inconsistencies, and that is just to start. God is supposed to be all knowing, loving, and forgiving and yet when you actually read up on it god is actually quite the asshole. I think Richard Dawkins came up with the best description of god i have ever heard and it is all true. It is as follows:

Im sorry but SCIENCE, whether it has been proven fact or not, trumps anything the bible can explain.It helps define who we are, where we came from and where we are going to go. It can, with confidence, show that the earth wasn't created in 6 days. If a theory is proven false then it is studied and modified so that it can be proven as fact. If not then it isnt studied, or at least not by conventional scientists. It doesnt belittle us. It doesnt punish us for not following its beliefs, it encourages challenging its beliefs. In fact that what science is based on. A scientific theory is meant to be proven wrong. It advances science. Heck we now are starting to learn and believe that the THEORY OF RELATIVITY, which is like the most widely known scientic therory, is being proven to be not accurate. It doesnt condem us to an afterlife of fire and brimstone.

It explains the world and how we live it. It explains the processes the earth goes through. It doesn't say "ah well sorry about that tornado that just destroyed your town, but it was gods will cause you are all sinners". It explains that yes we all come from the same DNA. It doesn't matter that your black, white, Chinese, Hispanic, etc, we all have the same DNA. So therefore in a way yes we are brothers and sisters, but not in the literal way.

Science is not a theory, it is a fact. Religions are THEORIES, they have NEVER been proven as facts....EVER. Sure there may be stories in the bible which may have happened, but the bible as a whole is not concrete, it is not fact. Therefore believing that the literal "GOD" exists, or ever did exist

is just ignorant, or insanely dumb, or has just been blinded by faith
