Red Algae Bloom hits Sydney, now glows BLUE in the dark WTF??!!!...
SO here we have yet another case of where some type of alien, unknown algae appears on the beaches of Bondi Beach, with a blood red colour as seen in other parts of the world...

Article dated Sept 2012, on the alien blood red particles being from outer-space and the possibility it can reporoduce...

For years, claims have circulated that red rain which fell in India in 2001, contained cells unlike any found on Earth. Now new evidence that these cells can reproduce is about to set the debate alive

...However, Wickramasinghe and co can’t resist hinting at such an exotic explanation. They’ve examined the way these fluoresce when bombarded with light and say it is remarkably similar to various unexplained emission spectra seen in various parts of the galaxy. One such place is the Red Rectangle, a cloud of dust and gas around a young star in the Monocerous constellation.

Could this algae really be of an extra terrestrial origin? is this what is causing the mass fish deaths and beachings...

Thousands of red abalone washed up on the Sonoma coast after a phytoplankton bloom turned the waters red—and toxic. Photo: loarie.

About a month ago, thousands of abalone and other invertebrates washed up along the Sonoma coast, killed by what people thought was probably a red tide, a.k.a. a harmful algal bloom. Phytoplankton—photosynthetic organisms like algae and bacteria—can multiply in number, turning the water red with their bright-colored cells and wreaking havoc on marine organisms. An interdisciplinary team of researchers banded together to find out what was going on along the Sonoma coast. Within a few weeks, they’d figured it out: sure enough, it was a red tide.

I wonder what is going on with this red stuff and what is causing it to glow that eerie color? If you know of any more places being affected, add it here and maybe someone might wanna map it?

I agree with AC. Here is an educational site about it. They are dinoflagellates, a type of red algae that causes the red tides, and they are bioluminescent (glows in the dark).

Perhaps but it doesn't that explain the red alien rain unless the algae grew wings, and why is it not possible that said alien rain didn't bloom after making contact with water, resulting in alien red bloom that has bloodied the waters since 2001?

Have the seas turned black? have they been tainted by ye olde wormwood no.

Also the bible makes absolutely no mention whatsoever that doom happened on this date, so you can add Mayan beiliefs to your own too.

As for the melodramatic outburst at the end of your post...

Yet you REALLY think it's alien germs from space that is causing this?

And the Mayan Calendar is based on math, thanks very much.

Red tides - caused by algae feeding on pollution from sewage, fertiliser, car emissions and industrial waste - develop astonishingly fast. Each alga can replicate itself a million times in just two to three weeks until they cover the surface of the sea.

They can suffocate all life, turning parts of the oceans into dead zones.

Nothing to see?...

No.

But I do wonder if the rain was indeed alien in origin, and if so, it did make contact with earth water so there may be two forma of algae, one known and the other unknown.

Now more on that rain after analysis...

...specifically, Louis has isolated strange, thick-walled, red-tinted cell-like structures about 10 microns in size. Stranger still, dozens of his experiments suggest that the particles may lack DNA yet still reproduce plentifully, even in water superheated to nearly 600 degrees Fahrenheit . (The known upper limit for life in water is about 250 degrees Fahrenheit .

....Meanwhile, more down-to-earth theories abound. One Indian government investigation conducted in 2001 lays blame for what some have called the "blood rains" on algae.

So let me get this straight, this is a perfectly normal and regular phenomena, yet we have never seen the effects mass blooming algae that is bioluminescent until the last couple of days?

And those that think this is harmless, and nothing abnormal, I ask; Are mass fish deaths also normal and regular occurence which also went unnoticed until the last five years or so?

Anyone?

This is the RED TIDE. We used to get it every summer at the Jersey Shore. When we'd cranked up the inboard boat engines at night - especially with no moon out - the little critters would glow blue as they got shot out with the exhaust & coolant water. Pretty cool to see.

So did the millions of gallons of corexit kill off algae on US coastlines, or did it migrate to other areas based on the dead sea that will be the gulf?
