HUGE boom--central Ohio

Do you think it could have been an earthquake? There is a minor fault line that runs through Franklin Co. on a line SW to NE I think. There was a not too serious quake there in the late 80's but I don't remember any noise altho I've read that sometimes there is.

Have you called the police or sheriff's office? Or maybe a radio station?

There have been so many reports this past year of loud booms with no logical explanation. Hope you didn't have any damages.

Cincinnati here. No boom here, but my son was awake so attention was to him.

indicative of a sonic boom,, have heard them many times when the space shuttle was coming into land in FL.

maybe? never heard one. rickenbakker (spelling is way off haha) is about 20 minutes away. the only thing I seen frequent there is choppers.

Can a sonic boom sound and feel like it's coming from the ground?

Just watched a YT on Sonic Booms, I don't think that's what it was....the booms weren't that close together, maybe like 10+ minutes or so apart.

Caught this on a local news FB page, doesn't fit the time frame but still interesting :)

OK i don't know if you've been getting a lot of reports about this but my entire household felt tremors like a small earthquake! not anything to do damage but felt like the house was bobbing up and down a little and we live on the south west side of Columbus which dosent have a lot going on around it!!!! but yes just want to know if anyone else was feeling anything in the area!!!

I'm more northern...much closer to lake erie. Haven't heard anyone mention it. Must be something local to OP location

I live about 5 miles from Rickenbacher but didn't hear anything out of the ordinary last night (live near Scioto Downs) . My wife hears random booms during the day but there are 3 quarries nearby so I'm assuming that's the source of that noise.

Did anyone just hear it again tonight?

Groveport is SE, OP said they were SW which would be like Grove City area, correct OP? I'm SE near Groveport, what time did this boom happen?

Lines up with the current quakes in the US. Also the line going up to Rhode Island passes awful close to Columbus, the Madrid fault and the location of the Va earthquakes. Feel free to Embed.

serious trend with these sounds. Everyone across N. America is lying? statistics alone say no. Key point to counter the 'official' explanations; OP described as "10+ minutes apart".

Could be, the eerie trumpets have been sounding all over the world and these are the drums of war. Footsteps.

OP. Wondering how far you are from Galloway Ohio?

I live in Licking County and I thought it was a large truck then went out on my porch to check for an accident. My house shook like never before. I felt it in my feet and arms as I typed a friend. My dogs woke and barked. I checked radar and no lightning yet.. after 7 am they say..

This one must have woke me up, lol.

I used to live on White Road and we would get mini quakes on almost a daily basis. It seemed like they were coming from 104 in a NE to SW direction, you could feel them go through and about 30 seconds later you would feel it bounce off the creek behind the house and come back. I never heard anyone else mention it, though. Now that I live in Columbus the thumps and bumps all blend together, lol.

Why is Ohio doomed? These booms have been felt all over the U.S. Just wondering where that came from. . . .

Interesting. At one time I lived on Rensh rd and had a huge boom with house shaking experience. Called a non emergency line and was told it was a "freeze quake"

I still live in general area and havent experienced any booms since then. Which was years ago. Have alot of air traffic from surrounding Air bases that cause hums though.
