What will you do if all the power goes out world wide? | |

If the lights go out World Wide only the developed countries will be bad. The rest of the World lives without alot of power already. What makes us great also makes us volnerable. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20452647 If your not already living close to without power your fucked. Gravity water ( No Pump ) Wood Heat. Wood Cookstove Access to firewood. Hand Tools for everything. Some Solar Power. Windmill Seeds to grow food and start over. Knowledge about everything. Way to protect ones self. Some small livestock. Knowledge for Livestock. Hunting and trapping skills. For most without having been exposed to living on a farm setting or some survival skills that have been tried and tested your done. Most people have never even been camping. Your done. Better have an exit plan. A good one. Sorry. Well, since all 440+ nuclear power plants in the world will all melt down and poison the entire globe with lethal radiation, I will probably hang on til my hair starts to fall out, and then I'll shoot myself and hope I don't fuck it up. |

Already thought of that. By that point I'd be 500 miles over the horizon, anchored of a secluded white sandy beach, skin diving for lobster and conch. You gotta be two steps ahead of the useless eaters. Once the bloated eaters died off, I'd come back to claim some prime real estate. Unless the atomic facilities really did melt down. In which case I'd be long gone. |

Obviously we would be inside the 3 days of darkness. I will be in prayer and have prepared with candles etc. This will be very scary but I know what is to come and that is so very GREAT! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24068631 Agree! If the earth is knocked out of orbit it would take 3 days to be brought back in. We will not be able to stand upright. Gravity... We will all be on the floor for 3 days. Have a jug of eater on the floor in my bedroom. Like above poster says, do not look outside. Block all windows, while you are stuck to the floor... pray! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 13450432 United States 12/02/2012 11:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm guessing if that happened the nuke plants would go down, I would take everything as it comes, help as I could and endure the suffering whilst causing no harm. Until my time comes. Quoting: anavriN This. Power goes out from the grid going down, nuke plants use a diesel generator to run the pumps to circulate cooling water. This is required even when the reactor scrams or is shut down via control rods. When the diesel runs out, reactors will melt down just like Fukushima. Every single one of them, so.... If the lights do go out and everything does break down, prepare yourself for worldwide nuke meltdowns. This probably would kill most of the remaining humans unless they can live underground for 6 months and the worst of the rads are gone. So this means the only people that will survive are our asshole leaders. Great |

Worth Trying 7 billion candles, all at once. Hmm. You'd either use up the entire atmospheric oxygen content, causing the whole planet to suffocate, or you'd actually ignite the atmosphere, burning the surface of the planet to a crisp. Let's not do that. Tell me what this tastes like... |

If the power goes out for like months I would gtfoh. I live in a fairly large city in a really dense populated country, when food is going to run out it is going to be mayhem here. I'll go to my house in the Ardennen on bike, is about a week worth traveling on bike. There I got my house with fire place, food, running clean water in the area and maybe even some food to gather/hunt. |

My wife would hate it. Not only would she be missing out on her soaps and shit, she can't cook worth a damn over a fire. I can, though, she will have to start eating my cooking. I never feel more relaxed than when I am camping. |

Katrina, Sandy, 2003 northeast blackout...all about the same. There are SOME instances of looting as early as 6 hours, but it takes about 72 hours for it to become widespread. My plan entials paying close attention to that mark. If it looks like shit won't be recoverable...tv and radio are off-air and internet is down...within the first 24 hoours, then I will be using the next 48 hour period as my window of opportunity to bug out of the city I live in, likely on foot. |
