How I found the women I've been married to for over 23 years:

I was a bachelor living with 3 roommates(all of us in early 20's w/jobs) in an apartment. One night in late 1988 (when all of my roommates where gone) I had just finished a shower and had shaving cream on my face. The doorbell rang and I answered it. Opening the door, I saw a beautiful young women with rain-drenched strawberry blonde hair asking me if one of the roommates was there. I told her he wasn't. She said to tell him she was looking to see him again. They had been dating months ago.

Two weeks passed. Again, I was alone in the apartment. The phone rings. It was her again asking if he was there. I said "no". Somehow, we ended up talking for probably 2 hours. She told me she had been dating one of my roommates and that roommate had been ignoring her while she had been away at her college since the Summer.

A month passed. I had left my local entry-level engineering job in Feb 89 and went to my first stint as a junior officer in the Army,having been commissioned a second Lieutenant in the US Army 9 months earlier - commissioned upon graduation from a college earlier in the summer 88. This first stint was called the Officer Basic Course. It was four months of learning how to become a junior officer in a certain branch of the Army. A week after arriving at the officer basic school I called her to see how things were going. Turns out that roommate of mine had been cheating on her sometime between the summer of 88 and Feb 89 while we had been roommates. We somehow set up our first date in Feb 89 by going to a movie called "The Three Amigos". Two months later we were engaged. Two months after engagement we got married in June 89.

Two weeks later I moved to Germany on my first Army tour. She followed me over there two months later. 4 months later both of us were in Germany to experience the Iron Curtain fall (Fall of 89. ). 23 years and three teenagers later here I am.....The end. :)

College - It was the summer before my senior year and he was in town temporarily to work an internship for a large company. He was living in the dorms and I was a dorm RA but on a different floor and our paths didn't seem to cross although everyone was talking about him. Then finally one day a friend introduced us. He started to lock himself out of his room and would come to ask me to let him in. I was seriously starting to think maybe he was stupid or something when he did it three times in one day! Of course, I didn't even realize he was doing it on purpose so he could talk to me. Well, he finally got up the nerve to ask me out and the rest is history (thirty years of marriage).

No wonder!

Met mine man at the pub. We are defo soulmates. Noticed his long hair and was hooked. Been together 20 years and strong as ever

She picked me...

I was in a bar on barbados and this absolutely gorgeous blond (I mean way gorgeous magazine spread hot) sat down next to me and smiled that "I'm hot and your it" sex look at me. She was a little drunk... Miss Canada...

It's kind of unfair but a hot girl can pick any guy she likes. I wasn't feeling unfaired that day lol.

And then started talking to me in french which I didn't understand at all at the time.

But I still got the message :) and she speaks english better than i do.

And then in bed... OMG! never slept with a multi-orgasmic screamer before, she scared me the first time lol, awesome! :) though a bit embarrased walking past the hotel front desk... I know people could hear that!

And we are still together years later and I can read the menus in french :)

and build soundproof rooms...

I did not find the Love of my Life, the Love of my Life found me.

Hit rock bottom, figured out life while climbing out, saw her picture, mostly her forgiving eyes, wrote her a letter, met her on my birthday, we have been together ever since.

I prayed to meet the woman of my dreams, and before I left she walked up to me and asked me for my number...

We are now married and have been together over 4 years.

When I wasn't looking.

She found me from an ad I placed on Craigslist. The other dating sites wanted money and I am way too cheap to spend money looking for a woman.

Been married almost a year now. Happier than I have ever been.

He left a note on my car...he had seen me around everywhere for a long time. Too bad it didn't work out this time around...hopefully in the near future.
