My mother years ago had a death experience. She died for 5 minutes on an operating table in the 60's.

She said she felt amazing peace. Felt safe and warm and cared for and loved. She was in a beautiful Valley with flowers and tree's and it was sunny and beautiful.

There was a little walk over bridge across a creek and somebody standing there waiting to take her across the bridge. This person was iluminated with white light. Their hand outreached for her. She said she really wanted to go.

But she decided to stay and told the person it was not her time. She stayed for me. She told them I was too young to be without her and that she was going too stay for a while longer.

Stop and think. You're right don't rush into anything. "FEEL" your way through. Not going to the light does not mean earthbound or purgatory. See what happens. You should not feel compelled to do anything.

You should check out the Tibetan book of the dead. Its shrouded in mythological language, but it covers what happens after death. The upshot is, you enter a dream-like state, where reality is being co-created by your own thoughts and other deities around you. The first stage, or bardo, is called the "clear light". And is supposed to be really peaceful. If your act is together, you can go to heaven (liberation) by embracing the lovely things. But as it progresses, more and more of the imbalances of your worldy mind are projected, so you run into all kinds of temptations and imbalances, scary monsters rooted in fears, whatnot. Without strong control of your own mind, you will eventually seek out a way to get back to the sanity of the physical world.

At this point, you are moving through a dream state connected to the physical world - you are an incredibly psychic disembodied entity, capable of feeling what other people are feeling, seeing what they see, etc. You will eventually encounter people making love, and if that draws you in strongly enough to remember the pleasures of the physical world, you will incarnate with a pair of them. However, with restraint at this point, you can still choose what you get involved in, you can choose the terms of your reincarnation.

So yeah, I'm not sure I believe it, but with the way things are going on this planet I'm still trying to train my mind should I end up in that situation after I die: Extra-terrestrial sex = H-O-T-T.

Did you guys ever read the book that was written by a brain surgeon that did not believe in SHIT. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Soul Nothing. believed that people who had near death experiences were full of shit or delusional. I mean this guy was empty. Void of anything. When your dead your dead.

Then he died. Brain dead. His doctors said no way. Brain mush. Pull the plug.

Well he did not die. Came back with brain function which he should not have because of the bacteria virus that grabbed his brain. But he did. Full function and wrote a book about his experience and what happen to him during the point in time that he died. Then he tried to disprove of what he experienced.

The gist of it. Heaven and hell. The light is where true peace lies and there's a big whole universe that we trancend too. You have to go for the light. Sorry to burst your bubble. If we come back its by choice. It always is.

What you do when your here dictates what you get afterwards and the choices you get afterwards. Its like a learning curve. Do a good job and get rewards like airmiles. Fuck it up and well I think you get the picture. So the big question is. What did you do with the time you were given. Did you make it heaven or hell while you were here. The light is the False Light of this perverted reality. It will give you "love, joy, and peace," but only as it suits it's purposes. It will eventually need to feed off of your soul-matrix energy, and it will become hateful. It will then force you back into the physical where your emotional energy can be maximized and consumed to sustain itself. Don't fall for the trick again.

The best way to avoid the 'soul trap' after death is to stop believing in reincarnation. Beliefs are powerful, so if you believe in reincarnation, you are going to be attracted to it after death. It's not going to help by avoiding the light (which only keeps you in the lower planes, which are naturally dark, with little or no light). While you are wandering in the lower dark planes, you will be approached by entities who share your belief in reincarnation. You will be convinced that you need to reincarnate, that everyone does it, that it cannot be avoided.

The belief in reincarnation on earth is a fallacious one and prevents progression to higher spiritual realms after transition.
