OP I agree with you. I was watching a TV show recently, and sometime in the 90's on this show they said that phrase I dread. I find myself saying it sometimes, but I fucking HATE it. I can't stand it, it feels like you are just placating someone but not really sympathizing with them.

I was really shocked to see your post actually, because I had just been complaining of that phrase minutes before your post showed up. Seriously people, think before you talk. What does "I know right?" actually mean. It means you agree, but then for some reason you are asking the person you agree with if they agree with your agreement? Right?

Even if a saying is attributed to another, doesn't mean they didn't get it in some form from another.

Personally, I utilized the saying the other day after a particularly sift and jarring bout with multiple synchronicities.
