Why the hell is Israel COLLECTING taxes for the PLA. That is just plain stupid. Also why would the PLA AUTHORIZE the Israel's to collect taxes giving them the opportunity to withhold said payments that is just plain stupid as well!

How does Israel COLLECT taxes on the WestBank when for all practical purposes the PLA controls the territory. The only thing that woulde make any sense were if the Israelis collected the taxes on Jewish settlements in the WB. Such a concession would obviate the PLA claim to control of its so called STATE!

Perhaps these weren't TAXES at all but rather PAYMENTS by the Western countries and the UN to fund the ARAB REFUGEE camps on the WB and in Gaza. Since NEITHER of these entities has AD HOC nation status perhaps the Israelis were used as a conduit of these funds. Perhaps Israel has gotten tired of waiting for the PLA to pay its bills and claimed part or all as payment of past amounts owed. Just maybe...............
