There wouldn't be flood stories all over the world if only an area around the Black Sea had been flooded.
I think it was a continent that got sunk or flooded, an entire huge continent, either in the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean. As the survivors escaped in ships in different directions and landed around the world in different parts and started new settlements and civilizations, they all told the same story of a huge flood that had covered their world.

its only a mystery if you don't believe in God. besides ive heard the theory mentioned in that article many times before so its nothing new.

they try and say only a certain region flooded but to those living there it seemed as if the world flooded. it also mentions the seashells being found on mountain tops but it fails to mention that sea shells have been found on mountain tops all over the world.

so that pretty much voids their argument that only a certain region of the earth was flooded.

myself i believe it happened just as the bible said it did.

If regional, no boat would be needed, Noah had ample time to move to higher ground. God would know the best course of action

There are an estimated 8.7 million species on Earth. How would they have survived if the entire world was flooded up to the mountain tops?

Around 2000 kind would be correct/ no water creatures or insects - No mountains until after the flood - the surface of the earth changed dramatically. Recently discovered there are thousands upon thousands of valcanoes under the oceans, more that we count on dry land - a lot of water caused a lot of earthquakes which opened up a lot of lava flows

one only needs to research the miriad of cities sunken deep beneath the waves all over the world as evidence.

the flood occurred world-wide, but it didn't cover the entire globe, just the centers of civilization.

I am aware that the bible is not a history book so reading the scriptures will not answer these questions I posed to you. Do you know how long it would take for 2,000 species to evolve into 8.7 million???

The biggest mystery might be who mary was, who the father was, etc. I could tell you but it might give you a clue or two to immortality, and well I have not seen one that deserves it.

Kind of like dog breeders I guess. Thousands of kinds of dogs, but they are all still dogs
