Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.

I personally wouldn't do it. But I'm not sure about those compounds.

As long as they are washed out well, say with a good dish washing detergent and then rinsed well, they should be ok. But if in doubt - then chuck them out!

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

Yes, you'll be fine.

Re: QUESTION ABOUT CITRIC ACID AND PHOSPHORIC ACID
citric acid is the active ingredient in lemon juice; the acid that would remove your tooth enamel if left on long enough.
Phosphoric acid is the ingredient in soft drinks that cause one to leach calcium and magnesium from the body. It's highly acidic and damaging to the teeth as is the citric.

Could those acids have penetrated the plastic walls of the container and filter back into the drinking water you are planning on storing?

Something to think about.

Honestly, ttown, I would clean them well and use them for storing water for washing, not drinking...and changing the water every 3 months..to be safe...

why chance it, ya know...;)

Because you also need to research how those acids will react with chlorine/bleach in a plastic container...not worth it...

Re: QUESTION ABOUT CITRIC ACID AND PHOSPHORIC ACID
Look up the ingredients of soda pop.... I believe these are in there used to help dissolve even more sugar into the mix! Since you drink them in soda pop they are not toxic. However the acid which remains in the containers might be hazordous to eyes or skin. Carefully rinse them at least three times. Fill them up to the top and let them sit three days. Then empty them and refill for use. If there is any doubt about their history. Ie changed hands, might have been used for something else etc... then forget it and discard them.
