Re: Are women doubling up on menstual cycles lately?
So far it´s only women from the US.
Maybe we could find out in which states they´re living.
If anyone could just tell in which state they live, maybe we find out it´s confined to the west coast (cascadia EQ etc.) or something like that..

Not sure why so many other women are experiencing a recent change in their cycles. Could it be a precursor to something? Could it be a result of some natural changes in the Earth or Moon or both? Would be interesting to find out.

Mother Nature knows what she's doing. LOL

Women, historically end up fertile after tragic cataclysms. Women can even tell you when destructive natural disasters are going to occur.

You see.... Nature makes sure that the world can repopulate when necessary, by adjusting the female cycle ahead of a tragedy.

Also, people will tend to go on eating binges before disasters - just in case the food supply is disrupted.

God didn't do anything without a plan. LOL

Ask around.... watch and see.

My wife and her friend have been experiencing this for the past few months. New moon, full moon, new moon, you get the idea. I wondered if this is a phenomenon that many women are experiencing, but don't talk about it. (At least to men.)

Thank you ladies for your comments.

Re: Are women doubling up on menstual cycles lately?
For the last 3 months, around the time of the Blue Moon, my menstruating has been incredibly irregular. Almost non stop bleeding for 3 months now with an occasional week(ish) long reprieve. Since this last full moon there has been an obscene amount of blood as well. It's like a murder scene in my panties, haha. Also, in July I took a trip to the ER, as I had been driving to a friends house and felt like I had started bleeding, but when I got out of the car, blood started rushing out of me like crazy. I was wearing shorts over leggings and it went through both layers and just kept bleeding. I got extremely light headed from the blood loss and thought I was going to exsanguinate or something. The bleeding last a good hour and a half or so. The doctors never were able to tell me what the problem was, just told me that it must have been something weird with my hormones as I had gotten off the birth control shot about a month earlier. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only experiencing the inconsistency though.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28847327

For goodness' sake, that is NOT normal! Get yourself checked out for cervical, ovarian or uterine cancer. Wierd hormones, my butt!

I know a woman who nearly bled out like you describe - a couple of Christmas' ago, she felt a bit tired and went to have a lie down. Her husband went to check her out as she didn't resurface for several hours, and lucky he did as she was only an hour or so away from bleeding out completely. She described the blood loss as incredible - her bed was soaked in it so badly they had to buy a new mattress and the ambulance officers who attended said it reminded them of a guresome murder scene. Took doctors a few weeks, but they found she had a very aggressive type of cervical cancer - she did not take a puzzled scratch on the head from doctors as an answer and pushed until they found the problem. Lucky she did as she is still with us today!

Constant mentrual bleeding is not normal if you do not have an obvious cause (like childbirth or injury)- get yourself checked out...

I'm only 22, so I doubt it's cancer, but it certainly is strange. I don't have any medical insurance. I don't know how in the world I could pay for tests. I've had numerous health issues lately that have gone undiagnosed and untreated as a result. In fact, I had another ER visit this summer because of unusually high blood pressure and chest pain, and was referred to a cardiologist after and EKG, but I just simply can't afford it. I'm not quite sure what to do.

Wow, this is soooo freaking weird. Ohio, here. My contribution to this discussion may not count, but...had an ablation over a year ago...been spotting like crazy the last six months (and i shouldn't be), have had cramps so bad some months, I can't even climb the stairs...that's never happened before.

I thought i was the only the only one with a stupid uterus! Huh! :-)

okay, i thought it was SUPER strange that this month my period came a week early....hope that doesn't mean double the period or an extra one in a little bit....
maybe 'the universe' is wanting people to get pregnant more. XD
anyways, i'm on birth control for once in my life, finally, so it was even more strange to get it early...its supposed to be like clock work since its not real anyways. XD

You can never be too young for cancer, sadly. It must be hard living in a country that holds the health care of its populace in such poor regard - I thank the universe daily that I live in Australia and while we are heading towards a public health model similar to your country, we aren't quite there yet.

As for what to do - perhaps some internet research may help you find some affordable food based supplements to help with your iron levels and suchlike. Keep a record of what has been happening to you - if you end up in the ER again, it will help remind you what your symptoms are and might direct the medical people in the right way to help you better. Doctors, despite their God complexes, don't know everything!

Good luck! hf

All of you women should check your iron!!!! Free way to check iron:

Use a gold ring and rub it down the side of your face. If you have a black streak down your face, your iron is low. If there is no streak, you're good. I swear this works!!!!!

Re: Are women doubling up on menstual cycles lately?
I saw one comment so far about multiple ovulation, anyone else? Like I said, I am pretty sure I had a second ovulation this time around (I definitely know when I'm ovulating).
 Quoting: Laura Bow

My cycles have been very normal in length (for me, anyways. I've always been irregular in a semi-regular pattern), but I'm pretty sure I double ovulated (in the fraternal twins sense - two ovuations close together) a few months ago. I get one-sided abdominal pain with ovulation. That month I got it on one side, and then the other about 4 hours later. That's never happened to me before that I'm aware of.

one on schedule, one early, then it repeats.
so the cycle goes 18 days, 24 days 18 days, 24 days

thought it had something to do with one ovary going wonky and one still in good working order.

maybe not.

ew, i hate talking about this.
lol...
 Quoting: Salt

That's how my cycles have always been, except it's more like 29 days then 35 days. I also assume it depends on which ovary is doing the work that month.

I've gotten pregnant on both long and short cycles, so presumably both are functioning properly.

Ideally the moon should be the egg cycle

New moon means menstruation.

full moon means fertility

I knew a gal that was delited to match her cycle with that of the moon. It can only happened if relaxed and in tune with the earth.

This is ridiculous....learn about menstration. It is the holidays, family members are reuniting, people are in closer quarters.

Women sync up with the women they are around. Women are currently around people they are not around as much as this time of year or are around certain women more.

For me past three months completely off.. wrong time wrong length wrong pattern completely..

I travel the world extensively so it was not a matter of where I am located.

Good to know I was starting to wonder if something was going on and know something is not right..

But it is moon cycle related for sure.. that I have figured out...

Thanks OP for the post it is one of those things you don't realize is happening till others are confirming it as well..
I really am not nearly as interesting as I should be but I certainly will try to find interest in nearly everything I can be. self quote.

I have had my menses for 24 days now. Never a problem till this month. I went to the doctor and he wanted to put me in the hospital for a procedure Tuesday. I refused as I am currently without health insurance.

(it's funny because I have had health insurance for years, never used it, lost my job and bang, something goes wrong).

Anyway I am just dealing with it for now. Glad I stumbled across this thread. BTW, I live in PA.

Re: Are women doubling up on menstual cycles lately?
I had a 6 month run, ended up with multiple transfusions. Was very dangerously low on blood/iron. Dr. told me to continue with 1,000 mg per day until blood count was back up. Ultrasound showed uterine fibroid, of which there are 5 different types. The uterus reacts according to where/ how it is growing from. From personal research they are caused by soy and are also stress-related. Gyn told me a fact: she said that 99% of cadavers have fibroids. I know there is a lot to be said about the hormonal effects of soy.. good for menopause, etc. Not in my case. Anyway, I can suggest an inexpensive "finger-prick" test available at most community clinics, and also if there is pain, lack of energy, anemia, extensive cycles I would also highly suggest an ultrasound. Demand1. Try shopping for foods that DO not contain soy, you may find that to be a shock.
You can't take it with you - anyway.
