Just thought I'm mid 50s and they are drying up. But I am wondering if GMOs are causing this. After all, they are everywhere now, and animals fed gmos have no great grand children. Please, do any of the ladies here who are having 2 periods a month make VERY SURE they have none of the following, unless they are organic: corn soy canola dairy eggs meat (because animals are fed GMO alfalfa, corn and soy) This thread below talks about the results of Gmo foods causing "Iron poisioning" in the blood and also how women are able to flush the "toxic" iron more quickly and readily out of their bodies as opposed to men due to having their periods... I was wondering if the reason we may be "doubling up" so to speak is because our bodies are naturally trying to fight this supposed "iron toxicity" we are being exposed to through the genetically modified foods we are "unknowingly" ingesting. Thread: Population Being Exterminated by Iron Poisoning & Copper Deficiency Another truth about iron: Women live longer on average than men due to some iron excretion: Males accumulate iron more rapidly than females due to the slight excretion of iron by females through menstruation and child bearing (Average: 25mg and 500mg, respectively). This explains why males have a shorter lifespan on average than females, and why females develop more severe symptoms after menopause. The total iron excretion due to menstruation and childbearing during a lifetime is estimated to be about 15 grams. Thus, men of the same age as postmenopausal women have on average five years less of lifespan due to an estimated additional 15 grams of iron accumulation. (Note that this is just a small fraction of the total lifetime accumulation of iron.) Just the other day I started my 2nd for this 30-day cycle. Last 30-day cycle I had two for the 2nd time and I just assumed it was because I had forgotten to take some of my Birth Control pills. But this months I remembered to take every single one of them and it still happened, oddly about 7 or 8 days in to my pack of pills. :-/ I got really frustrated with it yesterday, because it's simply not my time and I remembered all my pills and have no reason for this! |

I saw someone posted they're due again on the 21st. That sounds about right for me also unless the period I'm finishing now goes straight through the 21st which is possible with what's been going on with me, I might get a break for close to a week and then it'll come back. Anonymous Coward User ID: 30144677 Ireland 12/17/2012 07:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Once a month is once too many in my opinion! I Hate this cycle crap! I always have - was distraught when i found out about it...lol Interestingly, the moon affects the endocrine system - meaning all glands...pituitary, thyroid, thalamus, adrenals etc. My thyroid and adrenals are completely out of balance. Since this has occured i've had monsterous PMT...feeling utterly crappy all month long - either extremely active, hyper energised, or cranky, moody...then days of feeling super weepy, sensitive. To say i'm fed up of it would be an understatement. The actual cycle has been arriving sooner than expected..maybe 17 days. I sense ovulation because i get PMT symptoms then too. It's a heavier but shorter cycle now too. Sometimes the PMT consists of full body cramps...writhing about for 2 hours with no way of feeling comfortable...every muscle and joint aches and cramps...then a spate of fever will hit - followed by chills...followed by projectile vomiting...the cramps stop at this point and i can do nothing but lie still and wish for death! I'm seriously out of it at this point...breathing shallow...feeling totally drained - then i start to come round, and get up to find 'flow' has started. It's a roller coaster of hormones that are all changing when they shouldn't be. Now - considering all this recent info about the moon..and it's control not just on the oceans but on people too - i'm wondering if something has 'changed' about the moon to cause such wild endocrine disruptions. Man-boobs are on the rise too don't forget! That'll be the endocrine system going haywire too! :-) I'm hoping for menopause to hit early. Wish i knew how to bring it on! |

It used to be RX here in the states for menstrual cramps as well as other uses. It really is a life saver the first day or two of your period. If you can't purchase it, it should be available by prescription. Your symptoms sound particularly awful and this would help at least a little bit. Quoting: scorpio66 Ha, You just gave me a good laugh... Totally off topic but funny story... When I was 16 I had been asked to the "drive in" movies with a boy I totally was CRAZY about! I went over to my friends house to get ready for my date and developed a headache! My family always used advil but she only had "aleve" which I never tried... Took some right before I left on my date when the guy picked me up. About 15 minutes later we arrived at the "drive in" and the movie started. All the sudden we are sitting there in the dark and I feel my lip starting to ge hot and swell up! I grabbed my compact and looked in the mirror and FREAKED OUT! I looked like "The Nutty Professor"!!! I was panicing and didnt know what was happening or what to do! All the sudden this guy leaned over to kiss me and saw my lip and practically "Screammed WTF???" I was so embarrassed and told him I didnt know what was going on! He immediatley took me home and I never spoke to him again! When I walked in the door at my parents house my mom accused me of being in a fight! I finally mentioned the aleve and then she realized I was having an allergic reaction and wanted to get me to the hospital but it started to subside thankfully! :) never took it again... Soory again for the off topic post but whenever I think of aleve I cant help but cracking up now just remembering the look on this guys face when he leaned over to kiss me and saw my lips! Anonymous Coward User ID: 1110734 United States 12/20/2012 07:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 1. Women menstruate together. If another woman moves in to your home, you will tend to cycle together. It's possible that your body gives off pheromones and these olfactory chemical messengers cause the cycles between women to synch. If you hang around with a neighbor who's a women a lot, it's possible this will happen as well. There's disagreement about it among scientists whether it's a valid phemonema. [link to www.scientificamerican.com] 2. As people experience stress, it has a major effect on body physiology. It can cause a disturbance in your normal hormonal pattern. Ever had a scare because you thought you migh be pregnant, even if glad it was happening or fearful that it was happening? Well that can alter a normal menstruation cycle. 3. If someone changes their diet or amount of water consumed, then it will inevitably have a change upon the body's ability to cope. All women athletes experience changes in their menstrual flow if their body gets too lean. Why? Fat also produces estrogen. That little abdominal fat in your belly is also sending out estrogen that effects not only the softness in your appearance that makes you look feminine, but also your cycles of ovulation and menstruation. The flipside is also true, more estrogen can often lead to a healthy glow seen in pregnancy or otherwise from abundant estrogen. This can mean more flow later even if not pregnant. 4. Many times a women is pregnant, but doesn't know it. There might be some exposure to a toxic substance, or her diet isn't adequate, or the ovum or sperm was malformed, or perhaps the zygote, or perhaps implantation didn't happen as planned, and so Nature spontaneously causes a miscarriage. It's entirely possible that a heavier flow was caused by this. 5. Mood can cause more sudden flow. The body is trying to recycle and so cuts off the grow of tissue to allow the vaginal walls to thicken, and so they slough off. If you're experiencing a rough mood from having to cope, then you might experience a stronger response. Remember the fight or flight response in school? It's the same thing. It's related to the stress post above. 6. Lack of sleep can affect menstruation too. It's another kind of stress. 7. Since oral contraceptives are artifical hormones, then a change in taking them will result in changes in the menstrual cycle. Sometimes a very heavy flow will result from quitting the Pill. It's certainly possible that some women are more intuitive and so sense things that are changing in their environment, and so there will be a physiological effect on their bodies. You may be more empathic, and so your sense of that will create a change in you. We all think of ourselves as seperate beings, but we so affect each other in mysterious ways, that it would wiser if we were kind to one another and helpful, because inevitably affects us. |

Just thought I'm mid 50s and they are drying up. But I am wondering if GMOs are causing this. After all, they are everywhere now, and animals fed gmos have no great grand children. Please, do any of the ladies here who are having 2 periods a month make VERY SURE they have none of the following, unless they are organic: corn soy canola dairy eggs meat (because animals are fed GMO alfalfa, corn and soy) agreed. dairy is a big one. there's always non dairy milk, such as coconut, almond, rice, hemp, oat milk. even if the dairy, eggs, meat are organic, you can still get heavy period flow and cramps. try eating mainly fruits, veggies, rice, potatoes, pasta (if you don't have an issue with grains and starches that is, or gluten), basically less animal products for 2 months and see if your flow is lighter. there is a difference between ovulation and menstrual flow. you can still ovaluate (fertile) and not bleed. very interesting read, merely a theory [link to debbietookrawforlife.blogspot.com] 'WOMB LINING' PUZZLE 'Little bleeding', 'no observed flow', 'tablespoon of blood', 'half a day mucous flow' - doesn't seem to make sense, does it, when we've been led to understand that the 'womb lining' has to be shed each month. But, many women in developed countries following healthy diets/lifestyles, some indigenous women, and gorillas, don't seem to be shedding any womb lining, but are still having babies! Why is that many, if not most, women in developed countries do appear to shed a lot of gunge along with the blood, but the most natural-living women don't appear to? One theory, (and this is backed to some extent by scientific observations of monkeys), is that the womb lining can, instead of being shed, be reabsorbed by the body when not needed as a bed for the fertilised egg. 'If the endometrial tissues are not needed - in a truly healthy woman, as in animals in their wild state, those tissues are mostly reabsorbed. What remains is expelled over a short period of time as a slight mucus discharge.' (Dr H G Beiler) So - could it be that the womb lining that the average woman has built up contains toxic substances due to things ingested and the body is saying 'No way - don't want that reabsorbed thank you!' and chooses instead to dump it? It's certainly likely that, in the average woman, the womb lining will contain toxic substances, as, when pregnant, it develops into the placenta, and we know that toxins on the placenta can be harmful to a developing baby. Of course, if the egg has been fertilised, the lining will need to stay. But it's possible that the body could find other ways to detox itself of any poisons in early pregnancy, eg via morning sickness (discussed later). And/or perhaps it's simply the case that the unhealthier the woman, the thicker the womb lining will become. And, connected with the argument above, this could be because a lot of material/blood is being deposited there that is not deposited in the healthier woman, or the primate. |
