| last one I just don't give a fuck User ID: 28412200 12/02/2012 10:09 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi guise, Quoting: tenpensalute i'm in far rockaway doing sandy relief for a month, i was sponsored by a small startup back home with enough gas to get here. i have no real living expense, living out of church basement, and eating whatever food- i'm here to work and i'm young and healthy, working with the community is a gift and a reward. also i'm not with any bullshit nonprofit or organization, i'm an individual who fills gaps where no one is attending, whether it be cleaning garbage, handing out food, cooking, yielding phone calls, training volunteers, whatever. area is hard hit, was hard before the storm, utter devastation now. i'm working with multiple distribution sites, along with coordinating/ training our outreach end, mostly so we can get emergency resources to elderly, children etc because we have multiple deaths here just about every week as it gets colder. next 3 days we have good weather, downhill after that. listen- i spoke with a homeowner today (or i guess homeowner as far as being under mortgage) he said multiple people in his neighborhood had mortgages owned by American Servicing Company, a subsidiary of Wells Fargo. Apparently, when going to file relief checks from Fema? Insurance Claims? Etc? ASC is stealing the relief money on the basis of mortgage payments being behind. this man was visibly upset, and disturbed. i said we would have occupy sandy legal follow up with him asap. i believed the emotion on his face. These are people whose HOMES literally look like, well a fucking hurricane went through them. They have lost everything. On top of all of this, we have a massive public health CRISIS with MOLD and not enough is being done to protect people who are homebound. Bloomberg has denied federal aid to affected areas multiple times. We aren't getting enough RESPIRATORS P100 and better, mostly basic P95 masks, which is essentially the BARE minimum...and totally not suitable for the families who are homebound now in mold. Life and death. Background on ASC: primarily interested in forclosures but also does some loan modifications. Some of their loans originally established by other lenders have been sold to Wells Fargo. Rick Rothacker- Reuters article "Wells Fargo began suspending all forclosures in FEMA declared disaster areas, suspensions will last 90 days" but.......hm...?? "..customers are not always automatically enrolled in mortgage relief via Wells Fargo, BOA, Chase and Citibank, they must initiate contact with lenders, be able to show for loss or damages,.." Ilyce Glink- moneywatch cbsnews.com what we want to know is, validity of the claim, ASC stealing or blocking relief checks, extent of blockages/ thefts how they are doing this and then we want it blasted. also, DEC 15 will be occupy sandy ACTION DAY. <3 thank you. I would bring this to the immediate attention of the Obama administration. After all, a huge majority of those people out there voted for Obama. I'll bet that he and his organization will get right on this problem. |

| tenpensalute (OP) User ID: 29039623 12/03/2012 11:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | both are points we are researching right now, hoping for some net activity and assistance in that essentially the way it was put to me is: because the insurance claims are being filed under the same umbrella organization (wells fargo) who also owns peoples mortgages, the checks are after being approved are thn being withheld on the basis of being behind on mortgages because it's the same umbrella corporation i'm looking for net support in researching this. |
