So that you may understand

Imagine trying to explain an apple to a two dimensional being.

It wouldn't have a clue as to what you are describing. It has no concept of 3 dimensions. It doesn't know what "up" is.

The only way it could understand would be to slowly pass the apple through it's plane of existance, and let it circle around it section by section, until it had seen every part of the apple.

It would probably get frustrated at first, wondering why it you wanted it to constantly circle the same red wall over and over. Sometimes the journey was short...other times it was long...and at the end the big red wall became a very small brown wall that eventually disappeared.

But then, hopefully...like that wax on wax off scene from the karate kid...it would come to a sudden epiphany and understanding of the higher meaning...placing all it had experienced into one greater comprehension of truth.

Suddenly, In it's minds eye, it could understand the apple!

Of course it couldn't explain it to others in the 2d realm...there was no way too. They would have to experience the epiphany for themselves...by walking the same journey and seeing each piece until they could put it all together. Some never did, even after seeing all the parts. They just never got the epiphany.

Now consider the 3d world you live in. Consider the paths you walk and the decisions you make. Consider your lifes journey and the things and people you encounter along the way.

It may not all make sense to you now...but in time you may see. And perhaps, just perhaps, God is trying to show you something.

But also remember that just like the apple passing through the plane...there is space above and space below.

Listen to that which comes from above. Do not follow the paths and leadings of that which comes from below.

In time, you will understand.
