Re: quitting weed after 5 years of daily use/abuse
I have left my friends family and life for weed and am now on the path of recovery. I have tried to quit before and relapsed multiple times. It all started out of curiosity of why do my friends use it? It was almost like a science project at first in that I wanted to know why. Now I understand how hard it is to quit and I feel that it is time to begin healing myself and others. After over 5 years of use, it is time to HEAL.

You left friends and family for...weed?!?!?! Feel sorry for you man...How did you let weed take care of your life? I've been on weed responsably for more than 10 years and I haven't had any problems at all!!!
Now, you made a decision and I think it's a good for you.

I became withdrawn and only played video games and smoked. My fam was always against it so i felt guilty when i smoked like i failed them whenever i would pack a bowl.... didnt really realize this until now. Your right about the guilt trip!

You guys are seriously pathetic...

Wanna know what has been exponentially more harmful than the weed you have been smoking?

THE GUILT YOU PUT ON YOURSEL FOR DOING IT.

Crack heads, speed freaks, and heroine junkies "lose" their families, not fucking pot smokers.

Also, from what I can see of these posts here, if it wasn't weed, it would have been something else.
"Something else" being some other obsessive and/or compulsive behaviour you would have found, instead of weed.

That lack of self control is what has poisoned your mind, self respect, and perceptions. In your ignorance though, you are now blaming a fucking PLANT for your problems and failures, and not the thing actually responsible... YOU!

You need to figure out why this pattern of behaviour exists in your life and especially why you, a grown ass man, doesnt have the testicular fortitude to not feel guilty about the things he does.
Because I have sad news for you, quitting weed will not fix your problems. Without figuring out the root cause for your patterns of behaviour, you WILL only end up replacing weed with something else. It might be a shitty relationship that sucks your soul out or another type of addiction.

The temporary happiness you feel after u quit smoking grass will vanish after the void it leaves behind goes unfilled. You'll then fill that void with something else unconciously, and the guilt and self loathing will return, only now you'll be blaming beanie babies, world of warcraft, fatty foods, or the shitty relationship your stuck in.

Pot is natures prozac.
That only bad thing about pot is it is illegal in most states and I feel slightly guilty for using it. It is a beautiful plant and a mild high when grown organically.
I am retired from the government. I smoked in college, quit for 25 years because of the threat of random urine analysis, now have been using pot for 6 years, everyday since retirement. I am in better shape than anyone within 20 years my age and I accomplish more than most.
The best way I found is to make cana-butter and then make peanut butter cookies. 1 cookie is all you need per day.
Butter made from pot creates a very efficient, long lasting base for the day.
Stop if you must for a job. Feed your family and yourself and take care of your responsibilities FIRST. Then play.

Yes...... Of course...I was just of off a rant about my wife wanting me to stop using it.....yet she still has her coffee. Cannabis has a bad rap because of ignorance, otherwise, truly there is no difference other than taste, smell and preference, period. Granted.....the overall biological effects are different, however, a MATURE adult individual has no problem mitigating the effects so as to have little impact on others.

Re: quitting weed after 5 years of daily use/abuse
This is the Problem,

a Jealeous Doctor who Believes in injecting you with parts of dead animals or even with parts of dead humans is the problem.

The Doctors got Jealeous because they are evil and inject you with evil. Why would you want parts of a dead person or animal injected in you?

Don't go fo Injections!

Rather take Herbs and fruits and vegitables to heal you.

I am not saying to quit eating meat.

Man is made to eat meat.

Don't go for injections
because that is not meat,
its the part of the animals you won't eat that gets injected into you. And some injections contain human parts.

So the Jealeous Doctor made you a cannible of some sort, because he injected you with the inside of another human.

I hate doctors, thinking they can heal when really they make it worse. Some have even died because of going to the doctor.

The chemists medication is far worse than the cure, because of its side effects.

Well let you know this:

the side effects of weed will eliminate the side effects of the chemists drugs

So in the end Weed Herb Medication is the Best, works the safest, and will not harm you like perscription pills do.

So the decision is yours.

You can tell the doctor, look here, I don't like your medicines, and it does not work, and your medicines hurt my body.
I prefer rather to get healed naturally and herbs is my medicine just as fruit is also my medicine.

Tell the doctor cannabis is the perfect medicine and he should let you use cannabis to heal you naturally.

If he or she is a doctor , they will help you and your illness,

but if they cruel, they will do something evil to you and some might do it by Force.

So the Decision is yours

peace

WRONG!!

Caffeine is the world's most widely consumed psychoactive substance, but unlike many others, it is legal and unregulated in nearly all jurisdictions. In North America, 90% of adults consume caffeine daily.[13]

If you smoke every day it's an addiction.
Point.
Good thing to quit and then go after the reasons for your addiction.

Its physically Impossible to get addicted to weed
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28979488

THIS

Become addicted to morphine, go through the withdrawal pain, and then come back and talk to me about addiction. I've smoked weed on and off since I was 15 (33 now), and not once have I ever withdrew from it. Weed is the only thing that helped overcome the morphine addiction - no it did not replace it. I can go weeks without hitting a doob. If anything, when used properly, it will give you clarity and open you up to the wonders of our Universe.

OP......don't fool yourself. Cannabis is not bad when used appropriately. Using something and and abusing something are not the same thing! In the case of cannabis, people abuse the negative and unsubstantiated stereotype and stigma associated with it to push their own agenda. If you or others feel you have an addiction to it, it is psychological only, their's.....and yours. I am not telling you that you should use drugs. What I am telling you is to NOT be a victim to yourself or others based upon false ideology.
