If hamas can keep a tight reign on any violence and refuse to respond to any Israeli aggression and provocation they can do very well out of this.They need to sit back, remain peaceful, and watch as Israel continues to embarrass itself by acting like a petulant child. If they can take the moral high-ground, Israel will be forced to do the same by the rest of the world, and finally a compromise might be reached.

I'm not holding my breath though, there's way too much anger in the region.

if the u.n. doesnt take preferential treatment of israel over palestine , then i believe that palestine will seek to use them as an intermediary especially since israel has the advantage over them in so many areas
