The US Gov't. and CIA actually funded Star Trek partly in an effort to distract the US public away from this fact. (paraphrasing)

Well I dunno about american tv, but a lot of canadian tv has a spot in the credits of shows saying it was paid for partly by a grant from a canadian government entity..

He's actually a comedian, but has been in the wrong line of work for decades now.

I often suspected that Star Trek somehow mirrored reality, and the program was a way to desensitize the public to the idea of peacefully (for the most part) participating in a federation of planets.

Star Trek's races may be based on reality!

Fantasy often becomes reality, they needed to do more than distract, they were creating creators.

This is old news but always nice to remind ppl who was not aware.

It was nice of them to do that for us considering they were the ones who sabotaged the moon missions and stopped them.
