could it be anything from the mouth, tooth? does she have an ulcer?

Some illness can be fixed with antibiotics, if caught early. If too late, it can kill.

I lost a friend that way. Treatable infection went into the spine and it was too little too late when he finally went to the ER. He died hours later.

ER stat! there could be many causes. she can drown in her blood if there's too much - blood doesn't belong in the lungs. there are some illnesses that cause blood which are treatable if caught on time such as pneumonia. others are death sentence. my bro coughed blood drops as a child - pneumonia and he had to be hospitalized. I had blood in my sputum - pneumonia or inflammation of the brochial tubes. Took antibiotics and I don't take meds usually. take care. i wish your girlfriend well.

YES and every place she has been, worked, where you live all have been exposed, not good! My son was visiting his dad when he was 7 for a year in Austin, My X was building a house on the Guadalupe River and had hired some transients to help him, one of them had TB and exposed everyone else. If red blood, it's most likely not an ulcer. My late husband did that when varicose veins in his esophagus blew out. If she cares to live, she should go to the emergency room.

OP, were you getting oral when she started coughing? Are you big? You may have damaged something.

I know this girl, she coughed out blood, and made a gargling sound in her throat. then blood came out through her nostrils. I blew marijuana vapour all around her for her to inhale and slowly made an air space to reach her lungs. now she could breath through her mouth, but her nose was still blocked so I put a mouth pipe tube in her mouth and lit the marijuana. She could not pull deep but eventually the air came out her nostrils due to the marijuana effect. the air blew out the blood that was blocking her from breathing. She breaths nice now and uses cannabis to keep her from bleeding on the inside.

Wow, it was an emergency so I had to act immediately because the doctor would of inject her with poisen and she would have died. She healed herself with marijuana, and I saved her life, because she could not think right of breathing because the blood was blocking her breath.
