TB is very very contagious it's an airborne pathogen. Yes, now it is survivable. I can't tell if you're trolling or honestly confused. Iron Lung was for polio. Makes paralyzed lungs keep breathing, which has nothing whatsoever to do with TB. TB is treated with antibiotics, and is very treatable. Unless you get a resistant strain, in which case you'll be locked up in an isolation ward indefinitely. oops confused about the iron lung thing! Hope the op's gf is ok |

It's pretty easy to get a tb test, of course. If she drinks a lot, then sometimes people get esophageal varices, they're dualted veins that can burst or bleed. People freak out and avoid going in for a ER checkup. Seems prudent to do so. There's lots whooping cough going around. That could cause it too. |

I went to the doctor and it turned out that I was taking too much Sudafed for my seasonal allergies. Apparently such meds as Sudafed can dry out your mucous membranes and cause tiny blood vessels to burst thus leaking blood that is coughed up. What a relief! An easy fix was to reduce dosage.
