I have been 'feeling' whAt seems like vibrations since last spring but sounds like a idling diesel truck or generator operating and it changes, varies in intensity as if it is under a "load" sometimes, getting more intense. I have put my ear to the wall, the doors, etc. but cannot feel this, it is experienc ed through hearing, but still sensing vibratio9n without experiencing it otherwise. Like a real low hummm Quoting: aliensbro There can also be internal vibrations that originate from within the body. Next time you experience this, try and be aware of your immediate surrounding and see if you can notice anything else shaking/vibrating in the room (shelves/pictures/etc). You know, there are. I have felt it myself on several occasions and nobody else around me has, Then i become aware after a few seconds that it was I who was vibrating internally. I wonder why. I started experiencing this a little over a year ago and its happened a couple of times. Yes, absolutely, certain individuals have begun experiencing increased internal vibrations during the past year or so. |

I actually checked here to see if anyone else had felt it and didn't see any threads. Very strange for me, being someone who's on here all the time and is usually a skeptic about all these "Can you feel it" threads. |

To me it sounds like a gas furnace like the one my parents had when I was a kid that would put a low hum vibration through the foundation of the house. There's no furnace, or trucks or anything around, though. |

Kirk User ID: 25384388 United States 12/03/2012 07:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is this visual indication of loading the earthquake faults across the US or is it an indication of 'earth changes'? Quoting: Nika Seen on multiple nodes managed by different institutions, feeding back to the CERI / Midwest USGS official charts across the region… what can only be described as low end vibrations, over a VERY large area. NOT to be confused with earthquakes elsewhere around the planet, this is something I have not seen before over such a wide area. [link to lasinkhole.wordpress.com] Notice this is all centered near the New Madrid Seismic Zone? I live on the east outskirts in Cincinnati, OH. I have yet felt a vibration of any kind. A couple months ago, when Eastern Kentucky area had, correct me if I'm wrong, an earthquake, people in downtown Cincinnati area felt the vibrations of it, but not me. My husband says that if New Madrid line has an earthquake, the possible damage for our area has a low impact. That's not necessarily true, unfortunately. The geologic structure east of the Mississippi is much different than the western states. The crust is harder and colder. Seismic waves travel farther in the eastern US and they tend to do so without weakening. It was reported that the New Madrid quakes of 1811 and 1812 on the east coast and rang church bells as far away as New York. trees were thrown to the ground. That's an earthquake. Only once did my husband sense this when he said "our generator is running for some reason" to which I replied it is not running. Quoting: Mickeyblue 9806228 Just a couple of weeks ago I looked it up and it seems about five percent of people can experience this. I have no clue. when the Northern Lights look to touch the ground the Eskimos stay indoors. They are a superstitious lot. Some people report tinkling bells. This is attributed to direct electrical stimulation, there is no sound. I know rocks under stress can produce high voltages. I suspect the still air often with earthquakes is caused by a huge electrostatic charge deflecting air. Government is a body largely ungoverned. |

I remember it because I came on GLP immediately after that looking for anything on it. If it wasn't for that KY quake a few weeks back, I would have thought nothing of it at the time. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2164937 United States 12/03/2012 07:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe this: Infrasound, sometimes referred to as low-frequency sound, is sound that is lower in frequency than 20 Hz (Hertz) or cycles per second, the "normal" limit of human hearing. Hearing becomes gradually less sensitive as frequency decreases, so for humans to perceive infrasound, the sound pressure must be sufficiently high. The ear is the primary organ for sensing infrasound, but at higher levels it is possible to feel infrasound vibrations in various parts of the body. The study of such sound waves is referred to sometimes as infrasonics, covering sounds beneath 20 Hz down to 0.001 Hz. This frequency range is utilized for monitoring earthquakes, charting rock and petroleum formations below the earth, and also in ballistocardiography and seismocardiography to study the mechanics of the heart. Infrasound is characterized by an ability to cover long distances and get around obstacles with little dissipation. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |
