Anyone with more insight on this

Because sarin gas has very short shelf-life, its manufacture may mean its use is imminent:

Certainly no expert here, but from what I understand is that to use sarin, you mix the compounds, then put the compound into the delivery vehicle (bomb, missile, etc) and you go ahead and fire away. If it isn't used within a short time period, the chemical reaction that creates the sarin stops reacting.

I believe that to be true.

Sarin degrades after a period of several weeks to several months. The shelf life can be shortened by impurities in precursor materials. According to the CIA, some Iraqi sarin had a shelf life of only a few weeks, owing mostly to impure precursors.[12] The persistence of sarin can be extended through the addition of certain oils or petroleum products.

I would be inclined to believe the Syrian version of Sarin is more akin to the Iraqi version (meaning the shelf life may only be a few weeks long) rather than a more sophisticated version that's shelf life may be measured in months. If that is the case - Syria may literally be in a use it or lose it situation with this current batch of sarin they just mixed.

Could explain why the collective international community all had sphinter contractions today.
