vit D go out side and work
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29015106 Not everyone can get enough sun in all parts of the country 12 months out of the year. I was deficient in Vit D. My level was 14 and I took 50,000 IUs of D3 weekly for six months and brought my level up to 42. Just found that out from another blood test. I still want to bring it up further. More people than not are deficient in D. You can't get enough of it from food and if you can't get enough every day from the sun you need to take D3. And along with that take Magnesium. Quoting: truthwillsetyoufreeagain Wow. That's pretty low. Did you take D2? D3 is supposed to be a lot better and hell as cheap OTC. Edit: I see that you took d3. Doctors usually go with D2. Quoting: AlcoholicRunner I just wrote a whole thing and lost it. Grrrrr. Basically my doctor, who is older, doesn't take D deficiency seriously, as many don't. I asked for the blood test and when he saw the result of 14 said that I should take 1000 IUs daily for three months. That was after telling him that I had been taking 1500 for two years. BTW, this is through his website messaging system, so it's not verbal communication back and forth. When I reminded him that I had been taking 1500, he then prescribed the prescription of 50,000 D2. I did my own research on D2 and saw that it wasn't as nearly effective as the over the counter D3. So I wrote to him telling him that and he sent me back some research he did agreeing that D3 is far better and told me to take D3, without telling me how much to take. I decided to take 50,000 weekly of the D3. I let him know that, but he didn't seem all that interested. BTW, I've been to the D Council website. It's an excellent source of info.
