Re: How is it? Life in United States?
There is absolutely NO LEADERSHIP ANYWHERE.

And no one seems to care...they're oblivious.

At least during the Depression, Roosevelt seemed like he was trying to fix things...he was coming up with a plan...
even if it was bullshit, at least people felt like they weren't alone.

Now there is not even a real acknowledgement of the level of descent.

People are completely unconscious...

Re: How is it? Life in United States?
You see pictures from the 1940s and 1950s of the way people used to look. You remember, "oh, yea", I do remember when everyone didn't look dirty. Just plain dirty and poor.

Everyone looks busted down broke. But, why do they have to be so damned dirty. Unwashed, unshaved, dirty teeth, greasy hair, dirty kids, raggedy clothes.

You can still buy soap and shampoo and detergent.

It's a country of people who have given up.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27253156

no, its not.

I have been having the time of my life this year. People I meet and hang around with are u[beat and positive and they are not "sheep". they simply know how to take a negative and make it a positive. Life is only has good as you make it.

Re: How is it? Life in United States?
Midwest U.S.A.

Was earning $15.00 an hour for 40 hrs and took home about $780.00 weekly after reg. Deductions and spent $75.00 driving to and from work weekly. 60 bucks a week food,480.00 rent month, 120.00 smartphone, 120.00 cable tv, 120.00 insurances, 100.00 entertainment weekly.
Now Layed off with $330.00 weekly until I use up 5000.00 in the fund. Then will be $0 dollar income. Cashed in 401k and have stock, cant touch for 2 years.

Only jobs available are around $9 per hour starting and Have applied a 3 or 4 jobs per week with personal contact with 2 employers per orders from state of Iowa to receive benefits. If not able to work or make work searches your unemployment is terminated.

I am 47 years old Male and have worked meat packing industry, Plumbing, Climbed and maintained radio communication towers,
Broadband Cable technician and worked assembly for a very well known manufacturer. I have never been off of work for more than 3 weeks and I am going on 4 months. I will never apply for welfare and rental assistance which is popular for the vast multicultural population in this town of 15,000 people. It's amazing they'll have 100 dollar bills in wallet and use ebt cards and pickup groceries in new escalade. I drive a 1997 monte carlo with 220,000 miles I put new motor and tires in 3 years ago. And bicycle

I currently moved back home to care for my 72 year old mother whom can't walk well and has never driven an automobile. And she receives about $1110.00 a month and pays 121.00 for electric, 120.00 for cable tv, 100.00 insurance, 150.00 taxes, and probably gambles 500 a month at the casinos in the area with her elderly friends .....The new retirement activity, in this decade.
Previously cared for grandfather for 3 years when he had cancer and eventually died and later on helped care for my grandmother when I could and neither spend time in nursing home unless absolutely necessary.

Personally I'd like to live in Florida on SW coast but looks like i'm forever stuck in Midwest.

In my work experience

(and I am a licensed professional> which means nothing here anymore )

you are looked at as replaceable the first day on the job

No one values you and you can be fired at the drop of a hat

(but they require a two weeks notice or even a months notice or you will not receive an adequate job reference)

Employee is not valued but looked at in an ADVERSARIAL way

Us and them mentality is the mind set

america has very fine dental hygiene, the finest
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25470581

but with all the closet alcoholics and weed adddicts, most never get their teeth taken care of. many people have horrendous looking teeth in america, due to poor hygiene habits. drunk people don't brush their teeth and weed smokers don't understand that over time their gums will weaken and their teeth will loosen and eventually fall out.

that's more why you don't see people smiling... they just had poor lifetime dental hygiene habits and now it really shows.

No white men are allowed to work here...except sometimes in the trades. But there isn't much work there.

They don't want white people to be able to regain any power.

Their communities were all dispersed in the 60s and again in the late 80s.

All medical people are brown or black and foreign or women.

Most people who do have jobs work for wages that can not possibly support them, even in poverty.

Most babies are born to unwed mothers, but they call them "single moms" now.

Their children are REALLY crazy on so many levels, especially the boys.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27253156

They mostly buried what I wrote on the previous page, but I would like to add that there is an inexplicable number of foreign people here, and not just Mexicans.

I don't really see many Mexicans. But there are Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Hondurans, Peruvians, Chileans, Indians, Phillipinos, Arabs, and various types of Asians.

Now I'm living in Cleveland. There are ZERO jobs here and many African Americans, although not nearly the number there used to be which was overwhelmingly large per capita. In fact, Cleveland and New Orleans were the blackest cities in the US per capita, even blacker than Detroit.

I'm not really understanding what that could possibly be about.

Why are all of these foreign brown skinned people here?

They were never here before.

I don't think I could count more than a couple of old timed Lebanese among all the brown skinned people I ever knew , or saw growing up when there were actually a lot of people living here.

So why are all of these foreigners here in the middle of the country in the broken down abandoned hell hole?

Who let them in and what is their actual purpose? What is the purpose of those in government who are promoting this?

Like I said, there are no white male doctors here anymore.

Re: How is it? Life in United States?
It is unbelievably, incomprehensibly bad.
It IS a Third World Country.

Schooling is moron level. No one learns anything. There are no jobs and no hope of jobs and yet everyone in encouraged to go to college so they can stay permanently indebted to the government.

World record of people in prison per capita.

Empty, falling down, factories and stores and malls...abandoned decades ago.
There are thousands of empty factories in my town. In fact, it was a huge manufacturing, steel and copper milling, tool and die making, machine shopping city. All empty. All gone. Thousands of empty rotting factories that they never tear down because then everyone could clearly see what a vast wasteland it is.
Thousands and thousands of empty houses rotting.

Empty and abandoned shopping malls.

Downtown is a complete ghost town. There aren't even any bums there anymore.
Empty strip malls.

Empty abandoned schools.

Even the ghettos are depopulated.

Churches sold off or empty on Sundays.

The prices of entertainment just keep going up and the quality of the entertainment just keeps going down.

For example, you aren't even allowed to smoke OUTSIDE on an outdoor patio at a bar anymore where I live.

Cost of a beer is about $4-5 and the bartender expects a buck tip on every beer.

Cigarettes are about $7 a pack.

Gas is about $4 a gallon.

But you don't need gas, because no one has a job.

Most people live off the government for awhile and then they are killed off prematurely, one way or another.

Television is vile and disgusting, virtually every program, (people are just completely hardened to it), and you have to pay a ton for cable to see it.

The Catholic Church has been subverted.

News is all fake. It's just constant propaganda.

I'm sure it's close to Russia before 1991.

It's unbelievably bad.

I'm telling you the truth.

But they won't let this information out.

They want everyone to believe that everything is just the way it has always been and this is normal.

But IT IS NOT NORMAL.

It is disorientingly, mind bendingly bad.

And it just keeps getting worse.

It is Potterville from It's a Wonderful Life...only way worse. At least they had people in the bar there.

Anyone who says it isn't this bad is a liar and a shill.

And, I am not talking about the worst parts of the city where the poor people live.

I'm talking from one end of a 50 square mile radius to the other....

Crazy, crazy bad.

Be glad you aren't in Belarus, OP. Average pay is around USD$300/month on the good side. I had an ex wife from there that knew how to wash clothes on a washboard. Really intelligent girl, but like most of the baltic bitches they get to the US and forget what working is like...not to mention working is optional in those states.

Everyone has already mentioned the costs...but as far as smokes go, they are pretty cheap when you grow your own tobacco...seedman.com, but I dunno if they will grow in your climate. You can grow yourself some stuff and it takes a couple of seasons to figure it out, but it's not rocket science. Having a nice place to cure it is the biggest issue, but once again, not rocket science.

As far as income, I have a little college, but I took my tech school professor's idea and just lied about my credentials. Google taught me the rest. I am a DBA at a shady company making pretty decent and relative to DBA money. If you know how to do it, it doesn't matter how you learned it. Google is your friend lol! Fuck a 60k student loan!

I do have to say 'EU country' is a bit of a stretch lol!

much luck to you bro!

Re: How is it? Life in United States?
My observation is that there are depressed areas and areas that seem to have bullet proof economys:

Away from major cities and former manufacturing cities depressed.

Tourist attractions always packed. (IE Disney Orlando, Las Vegas)

Restaurants in major cities packed

Airports with major hubs so full , passenger are asked to give away their seats

Most americans cant do a damn thing without sticking their face into their i-phone

Its kind of surreal, you have extremes yet the US is filled with European and South American tourist, but yet if you are employed you are being overworked or over fucked, and if you are unemployed you spend your days working anything you can. It seems like the answer is to get a job in North Dakota as they have a booming economy with the oil ventures. Unemployment is 3%.

Peace to you during these times

It doesn't matter if you're just a HS grad or have a masters.

It's not about "what you know"... It's about "who you know".

If you don't have good connections, you're pretty much stuck working pay check to pay check, wasting your life away 9 to 5 to support corporate America which most of us hate. It's horrible cycle they have us stuck in. The American way of life is LONG gone.verysad

Alaska prices here..

Live in a 500 sq ft place with my 2 kids for $800 plus utilities.
Phone and basic internet runs about $90 a month, the kids need it for school.
Jobs are scarce 40 hours a week at minimum wage is $1000 a month before taxes so working more than one job is needed. Ex husband does not pay support even though he makes almost $50,000 a year.
Cigs are around 10 per pack for those that can afford it.
Gas is around $4 a gallon.
We budget food for a family of 3 for $100 a week, can buy basics but very little fruits or veggies; just bread, milk, pasta/rice, beans and a couple lbs of hamburger meat, cheese, soap/toiletries fem. products as I have 2 girls. Our luxury item is our family dog that keeps us safe and always watches out for us and loves us unconditionaly.

For me I feel like such a failure to my kids esp. around the holidays, birthdays, school feild trips as I cannot afford too much more than the roof and food on the table. We do love each other so much though and my girls thank me everyday for what I can do :)

Just wish I could give them a better life and maybe an extra or two once in a blue moon.

We always remember that money can't buy ya' love and we have so much love in our wee place we call home.hf

$750 for 1 bedroom rent in average neighborhood
$130 for electricity
$49.99 for internet
49.99 for tv
Average grocery will $150 lasts about a week or two
Cigs vary in price around $5 per pack
Alcohol (cheap beers for $5)
Soda Pop Coke Pepsi (1.25 for small personal bottle)

Living in the US is probably like anywhere else. Its boring, everyone keeps to themselves, people live very close together but dont know each other, most people sit at home and watch tv... Some people go on vacation for a week or two but thats about the extent of our fun.

We are possibly the most shallow, lonely people on the entire planet. Rich in materialism but 3rd world country poor in life & spirituality (not to be confused with religion).

Most people are literally walking zombies... On a day where the US government and military authorize killings of innocents with drones, most will go out for an ice cream and bitch about someone being "rude" to them.

Its the best place on earth as long as you never awake and start asking your own questions.

I want out but realistically there is no where to go thats better. We are the last country, when we fall, say hello to thousands of years of manipulation and control...

It is hard when you are on the top 5% of the world and suddenly you are just like the rest. Well, America is still a great land to be. People still have money to waste around in casinos, expensive Christmas gifts, cars, clothes and etc. Things are not as great as they used to be but believe me, we are way better than the rest of the world still. If you don't believe me, check Europe, Africa or Asia...

If you don't like it here, then try any of those places I mentioned and let's see how long it will take you to come back running happy to be home.
