Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1485413 What the do you do to cope with it? Any particular mental methodology? My girlfriend and I do. Lower back pain and leg pain. INTENSE. No medication ever helps, some only take my mind off of it. Marijuana really helps a lot in High doses. Other than that though there's really nothing you can do as far as I can tell...... meditation, meditate on being in another place, stretches, healthy foods, just trying to be all around healthy and taking care of your body, Strengthening the place that hurts with specific workouts.... That's about all I can tell you... TheOne |

The daily recommended dose is on the bottle. Also, I take ginger everyday. I put powdered ginger in my coffee (1/2 tsp - up to 4tsp a day). But, you could put it in tea or buy capsules if you do not like the taste of it. If the pain is localized you can use capsasin or arnica creams. I like the capsasin. I wish you well. |

If I don't run every day, it's really bad. When I run, every step is incredibly painful. Often I start out at a limping walk. But, when I get back I can stand up straight. Then the next day I start all over again. |

Multi vitamin that you take at least 2x's a day (verses a bottle that says once a day). Extra B, extra D, and At least double the vitamin C. beyond that I embrace the pain. meaning I mentally say 'is that all you got!' and I also remind myself that it could always be worse. I swear the above helps. Never goes 100% away. but it does bring it down to a bearable level. Good luck OP! SkinnyChic |

Search it, research one of the 3 companies that offer the technology, go to the company website and use their physician locator to find a MD near you. Quoting: natasha77 I switch from Ibuprophin to Tylenol and it doesnt do anything for me, i just mentally feel better. I have been in constant pain for 4 years now. I also have Fibromyalgia which is a very real pain all over the body and it flares up, i have it today. I still manage to get up early, do my few chores, then i never turn a trip to the stores down or with my family. I try to live as normal as possible even though this FUCKING PAIN IS KILLING ME ALL THE TIME. You absolutely must read dr. Sarno's books, ESP. Healing Back Pain. Or, google his pioneering diagnosis of Tension Myositis Syndrome on YouTube. His work has changed my life! 90percent pain free within 6 months. Be open to his findings. He is the real deal. |
| CeeLite User ID: 27967061 12/03/2012 11:24 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For "Neuropathic" (or other) pain, Neurontin can help, but not everyone, it also can make you really impared so be careful. Neurontin is similar to Lyrica. If you stop it (or Lyrica) you need to taper off slowly. Neurontin is taken 4x a day and Lyrica 2x a day (I think). Tricyclic antidepressants (will make you sleepy often so take at night) Like Amytriptyline (Elavil) or others. Most people don't know about the Tricyclic Antidepressants and pain but HAVE heard of lyrica. Less have heard of Neurontin. Really important with Neurontin to not skip a dose or the pain comes back. How can you NOT dwell on something that permeates every cell of your body, throbbing with your every heartbeat? Ask your doc for a referral to a pain management doctor. They're very good and will give narcotics if necessary, but also work to help in non-med ways. Physical therapy did vestibular therapy; that affects the way my eyes coordinate with my head and body, crazy sounding but did help a little. Massage if you can afford it, especially craniosacral massage of the head and neck. Keep a food diary - some foods make things worse, though you start to feel like a hypochondriac, afraid of stuff that will make you feel worse to the point of becoming a hermit. I understand. I live it. My husband couldn't live with it and moved on. One benefit that came out of all this was a deeper spiritual connection. Lay down and ask your pain why it's here, what it wants from you. Visualize what your pain looks like, what it sounds like, what it smells like. Get to know it. Ask your pain questions and see what kind of response you get. You may be surprised. I came to understand karmic past-life stuff and also that I agreed prior to this life to take on some pain to alleviate some of Mother Earth's suffering. Many thousands of us empaths did that. You all might be a part of this, I know it sounds crazy or egotistical, I never tell anyone but it helps to endure it when you understand you have a purpose to your pain and it is alleviating some of the stress on our Earth Mother. Ask your pain some questions and be open to wild and unexpected answers. |

Watch it as you would observe clouds. Others will tell you to start meditating in order to do this. But I don't think so. So you mean ignore it. How can one ignore something that is akin to telling your eyes to ignore light? Nope, ignoring it is still the same as not ignoring it. I don't understand how to disconnect without ignoring it. Walk it off, get over it, fight through it. On really bad days take it a bit easy or grab a nice hot shower and pamper yourself. Messed up my back and I have RA and two huge screws in my heel bone. Been on every drug including constant home dosages of Morphine(Avinza), went to hydrocodein and back and forth. You'll eventually just hurt your liver taking prescriptions. All you can do to at least keep your health is learn to accept that your hurting and build your day around how you feel. Some days will be ok, some won't. Eventually your brain can raise it's tolerance level somewhat, like when your ears are ringing and you start to learn to deal with it, so should the pain be dealt with. |
