This may be why people are seeing earthworms coming above ground so much now! I honestly believe that they are all over the U.S. now...

The one I saw was much thinner than the wiki photo. Kind of long and thin like a tiny snake. About 6 inches long.

Worms are much more important to our ecology than most people realize. What happens when they are gone? Is this why so many people are seeing worms coming to the surface?

Another weird change in nature. We are now seeing these changes daily. What is going on in the world?

When I was growing up the slum I lived in had these get into the pipes somehow. If you jumped straight into the shower you'd get hit by these. Landlord didn't really care and lots of the plants in our yard died most notably no lawn.

if they're luring them out maybe. i'm pretty sure these things are more like slugs than worms. that hammer head thing can expand in and out much like other slug apendages or antennae

the only change is they're invading the US ecosystems... they been around a while.
